Re: Best Windows on Mac Options
These days I think it's best to just avoid virtualization all together from an end-user standpoint. It only makes sense these days in a development environment, using something like Vagrant.
The most common app I hear requested that has no Mac version is Visio. I use OmniGraffle instead whenever ...

Re: Best Windows on Mac Options
So now that we know that Intel Macs are to be slowly phased out, this subject is worth revisiting.

What Turboladdade said, but also report it to the webmaster if that’s the only site that gives you that pop-up.

Depends on what machine I'm on. For my MBP, the two non-Apple apps I use the most are Amadeus Pro (podcast/radio/misc audio editing) and SimpleNote (writing). My fave Apple app is Keynote

Oh lord, that's way too long a list for the complete history, so I'll just rattle off what we have right now:
MACS: 2012 13" MBP (non-retina, still functioning perfectly after an SSD upgrade), 2010 MBA (not much used at present), 2019 15-inch MBP
IPADS: 10.5-inch iPad Pro (about to be sold), 11 ...

gather the necessary bits to make sheepshaver work and run System 7 on it if you like. You'll quickly realise that nostalgia is nice for a visit, but you can't really go home again.

Re: Macbook pro 2016 vs macbook pro 2012
You already have a computer that is significantly faster in all respects than even a fully-upgraded MBP 2012 (I am typing this on an upgraded 2012 MBP). Whoever told you that it is "as fast" is full of it -- these upgrades will certain help make it closer in speed, but the CPU, GPU, storage, and ...

Seconded. Good luck retrieving the files, and I trust you understand that Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner or some other free-to-low-cost investment would have prevented this tragedy, and you'll not repeat that mistake.

Re: iWeb and uploading?
GoDaddy itself offers hosting as well, but you are not obligated to them just because you bought the domain name there -- they just need to "forward" the domain to wherever you end up hosting the web site. I use Mobile Me and have GoDaddy redirect my domain there. That way I can have multiple ...

There aren't any Mac viruses. E-mail or any other form. As in ZERO.

I'm one of those pro designers Turboladdade was talking about, I now use InDesign for the serious work and Pages for everyday stuff -- it's fabulous. As far as Keynote goes, there is no finer slideshow program on the planet period end of discussion.

There are a wide variety of HTML/CSS editors out there. To help narrow things down a bit, tell us a little about what you were using before.
This isn't my area of expertise, but if you code by hand then I'd suggest you look at BBEdit, Coda or Expresso.

Re: iMac g4
It's a real pity more people don't understand that "obsolete" is a term with a specific meaning, and not slang for "useless junk."
G4s and G5s are indeed obsolete. But they can still be perfectly serviceable machines depending on what the user needs them to do.

I'm not "uneducated" on the subject, my mother just raised me right (unlike some, apparently).

Re: Choppy YouTube Video Imac G4
If you can run a fairly recent browser (like recent Firefox or Safari versions), you could try signing in on the HTML 5 beta for YouTube and test that. It should make a difference not using Flash. It will be slower to load at first, but should play smoother.
