September 2, 1999, Etna, NH (http://www.atpm.com) - About This Particular
Macintosh began the month of September the same way the rest of the Mac
community did - by going ³My god we have to have one,² in reference to
the newly-announced Power Macintosh G4 computers.
ATPM¹s resident Macintosh business expert and Apple stock-watcher, Robert
Paul Leitao muses, ³I'm very impressed with Apple's ability to turn
around new products so quickly. They have the edge going into the holiday
season. I'll bet they'll be a number of G4s under Christmas trees this
year and it will help Apple in its consumer-level product transition.²
Oh, and somewhere in our excitement, we managed to publish our September
issue!
Publisher Michael Tsai fawns over the re-release of perhaps the best
outlining software ever to hit a computer screen, MORE, in his Personal
Computing Paradigm column, and reader Scott D. Feldstein takes a turn in
our Segments piece. While the newly-released G4s may cause a realignment
of his strategy, Tom Iovino checks out the Free-Mac craze in this month¹s
Apple Cider.
Matthew Glidden, of ³Three Macs and a Printer,² continues his 10-part
networking series with his second article, ³Mac Network Adapters.²
Managing Editor Daniel Chvatik brings you more web sites in this month¹s
About This Particular Website, bringing the spotlight to bear on some Mac
shopping sites, as well as a great place for sounds and another to get
everyday questions answered.
Shareware Editor Bill Lovett goes on a quest for the best shareware chess
game, while the staff presents a ³Review Zoo² of software including the
eFax Microviewer, GameRanger 1.0b5, iMacolor and iCalc, the Adaptec Power
Domain 2940U2W LVD SCSI Kit, and the combination of QuickDNS Pro 2.2.1
and DNS Expert Standard 1.5.1. Ed Goss puts up a brand-new ATPM t-shirt
in this month¹s Movie Mutterings II trivia contest.
Daniel Chvatik was able to post some excellent desktop pictures of Monaco
for your enjoyment, once the rest of the staff finished beating him
around the head and shoulders for not stuffing us into his luggage. And
our new t-shirts are waiting for you to order!. Stop by and check all
this out, as well as past and present issues of ATPM at
