Apps inopperative from library

I've paid for then downloaded Keynote, nothing happens when I click the icon. Just to check I downloaded some free ones (angry birds) and that doesn't work either. Also they don't show up as being downloaded in my downloads menu. Please advise. Thank you

Are they put into your Applications folder?

Sorry, downloaded keynote for ipad not imac which obviously won't work. Sorry about that. Works now.
