Upgrade Video Card in G4 Gigabit Mac

Post by chrys » January 10th, 2009, 12:18 pm

I'd like to replace the original card with a "newer" one for the G4 Gigabit machine. I saw this one advertised and was wondering if it was compatible.

ATI Radeon 9000 Pro Mac Edition 128MB DDR SDRAM AGP 8x (2048 x 1536 Max Resolution) ADC, DVI and VGA Connectors Video Card Mfr P/N 100-433022

Thanks

The ATI Radeon 9000 Pro Mac Edition will indeed work in any G4 tower with an AGP slot.
Q5: What are the Macintosh system requirements for Radeon™ 9000 PRO Mac Edition?
A5: Any Power Mac G4 with an AGP slot, MacOS® 9.2.1 or greater and OpenGL® 1.2.2 or later.
From ATI's website.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
