Kaleidoscope 2.0 scheme
This Afterstep update is freeware. It has been updated to take advantage
of some of the new features of Kaleidoscope 2.0 It is not compatible with

Subject: [*] AliasMenu 2.0.1 (English-French version)
AliasMenu is a control panel that adds customized menus to the menu bar.
These menus work like the Apple menu: Each menu has a corresponding folder
and the menu automatically reflects the folder's content.
The menu name can be replaced by a custom mini-icon, to get a nice layout
or to save room in the menu bar and add more menus.
AliasMenu 2.0 has a host of new features:
* Menus are now present in all opened applications.
* Menus can be added after the application's menus, or inserted before.
* Keyboard shortcuts are always active and can use any modifier key.
* Items of any kind can be put in a menu: folders, applications, documents,
servers, scripts, and even URLs. Use AliasMenu to create several cross-
application bookmarks menus, always available.
* Multiple launching: launch several items with a single keystroke or menu
command.

Version 2.0.1 fixes some minor bugs, notably a Finder crash that happened
when a menu name contained only white spaces. AliasMenu is fully bilingual
in English and French (an English-German version is also available).

from within the control panel.

BOOM is an arcade game in the grand tradition, bringing the playability and
feel of the glorious 8-bit consoles on the Macintosh. It can be described
as "Bomberman meets Doom". Actually, I took the basic Bomberman idea and
dropped it in a
"Super-Deformed Doom" scenario (whatever this means).As a space marine your
mission is to penetrate 8 alien infested areas, each one divided in 10

Subject: [*] Fast Sound Player
Fast Sound Player is a freeware program to play sound (snd) resources or
sound files (AIFF, QuickTime, wave or AU). Both compressed (IMA4, A-law,
mu-law, 3 to 1, 6 to 1) and uncompressed sounds can be played.
This is version 1.0.1, the first general release.
Fast Sound Player is designed to be small and fast and as a result does
not provide a lot of frills. It was written as a companion to MultiCD to
allow listening to recordings made with that program but will work with
sounds from any source.
To play one or several sounds drag them to the Fast Sound Player
application or if it is already launched you can drag and drop files on
the program's dialog box. As well as providing a spot to drop sounds this
dialog also displays the status of the sound currently playing and allows
you to stop or repeat play.
Needs: System 7, Sound Manager 3
Contains a fat version of Fast Sound Player
that will work on 68K or PPC computers.
Fast Sound Player is freeware in the sense that I don't expect payment
for it but I would like to hear from people using it to find out where it
ends up.

Jeremy's Control Strip Modules is a package of Control Strip Modules,
designed to work with Apple's Control Strip software. The modules are:
* Jeremy's CPU speed CSM - Displays current clock speed in MHz, or
indicates relative full/reduced clock speed with tortoise/hare icons. You
can also select the clock speed after you restart.
* Jeremy's Battery CSM - Replaces Apple's Battery Monitor module, but
displays more battery information in a smaller area! Also displays hard
drive status, modem status and remaining battery time.
* Jeremy's Clock CSM - Displays the current time. Via a popup menu, you
can customize the appearance of the display.
* Jeremy's Sound Volume CSM - A direct replacement for the Sound Volume

PowerBooks that are capable of it. It can also "learn" the battery life on
any model of PowerBook, or display the elapsed battery time.
* Jeremy's Temperature CSM - Displays the internal temperature of a
PowerBook Duo or PowerBook 500 series.
* Jeremy's Application CSM - Displays a count of currently running
applications and DA's. Also has popup menu that lets you select foreground
application.
* Jeremy's AppleTalk CSM - Replaces Apple's AppleTalk CSM, but displays
more information.
* Jeremy's EnergyStrip CSM - Replaces the PowerBook or Energy Saver
Control Panel, and lets you adjust power conservation settings from the

restores the data to your RAM disk at next startup. Eliminates warning
dialog at shutdown about losing contents of the RAM disk.

New Touch-3D Version 2.1 Released - Now Create Real 3D Models!
It includes several new unfold layout functions and much
improved import/export filters. This program
is only available on the Mac.
Introduction
Designers have always used models to visualize their
ideas. In the past models required craftsmanship and a lot
of time consuming manual work. Then along came computers
with completely new and exciting sets of applications for
computer graphics, computer aided design, 3D modeling and
rendering. These programs have great power for creating
photo realistic images, having color, surface structure,
shadows, and so on but...
The problem is that these images remain in the computer and
even when they simulate 3D are still only in the 2D world.
Designers prefer physical models that they can see, feel
and touch. Like a picture is worth a thousand words, one
model is like a thousand pictures and can give a much more
concrete cognition of an object.
This is what Touch-3D is all about. A three dimensional
object is first designed on screen and can be unfolded
automatically to maximize the use of any building
material. Boats, tents, buildings and any 3D object you
can imagine is first designed on screen and using the
smart unfolding algorithms in the program, unfolded and
then printed out. Once printed and cut along the edges,
the model can then be folded back together to create the
actual physical 3D object. This is a lot quicker, easier
and less expensive then carving a wooden model or moulding
from plastic or clay and allows for quick changes and
updates.
Touch-3D is easy to use and comes with a powerful range of
drawing and modeling tools, allowing you to create
sophisticated 3D models. Experienced Mac users will feel
at home right away with the interface and all the tools.
Touch-3D compliments other 3D, photo and illustration
programs and adds a new dimension to their abilities.

Plot3D 2.1.0 is a free pro Fit plug-in for producing QuickDraw3D models of
functions (surface plots) and data (surface plots and scatter plots with
varying point sizes and color).
3D models can be interactively edited and exported as a high-resolution
PICT or saved in the QuickDraw3D meta file format (.3dmf) for farther use
on web-pages or for data exchange.
This Plot3D plug-in works equally well with the free "pro Fit 5.1 trial",
as well as with the commercial "pro Fit 5.1".
Together with the pro Fit 5.1 trial version, it provides a comfortable free
solution for producing QuickDraw3D interactive models of data and functions
in a standard cartesian 3D representation.
If you don't already have it, download the pro Fit 5.1 trial version from

SoundCalc is a music and sound conversion calculator which freely and
simultaneously converts between: Frequency, Note Names, MIDI Note
Numbers, Wavelengths, SampleRates, FrameRates, BPM, and more. Conversion
can happen in any direction - from any supported unit to any other
unit(s).
SoundCalc knows about the following parameters and units: FREQUENCY in
Hz and kHz, PITCH as notes and MIDI note numbers, WAVELENGTH in meters,
centimeters, feet, inches, and yards, DURATION (of one wavelength) in
seconds, milliseconds, samples (at all common samplerates), video frames,
perfs and SMPTE bits (at all common video rates), and note values at a
given TEMPO. You type in a parameter that you know, click Convert, and
SoundCalc figures out all the other parameters.
SoundCalc is 100% Pure Java. That means it will run on any Java-enabled
platform. However, as of now, SoundCalc has only been tested on the
MacOS. On the MacOS, SoundCalc requires Apple's MRJ 2.0 (Macintosh
Runtime for Java). This software comes bundled with OS-8.1, and is also
available freely from Apple. Currently, Apple "recommends" OS-8 and
above for running MRJ 2.0, hoewever, it is possible to install MRJ 2.0
under system 7.6.1 by selecting a "Custom Install" in the installer.
SoundCalc is shareware. You are free to use it for up to 30 days, after
which you must pay a license fee to continue using it. A single-user
license costs only $10 US.

Studio TakeLogger is a timecode logging utility for the Mac for audio,
film and video production. Designed for professionals in the studio or
on location, or for anyone logging timecode numbers, Studio TakeLogger is

The French Computers, Consoles & Cartridges icons' Museum.
This icon collection is the first release of a collection of icons for
various computers, consoles, and cartridges. It is a compilation of two
collections; one by MacFada and the other by
Nonoche . Comments are welcome.
The aim was to represent some old C3 (Computers, consoles, and
cartridges) as icons, as a museum of a kind. The fact that there are
similar "museums" on the web with pictures and technical details were an
inspiration in the design of these icons. I personally enjoyed making
these icons because it helped me to rediscover some old computers and
consoles which I had long
forgotten.
Therefore I decided to make these icons - including:
- Cartridges which I own (mainly from my SNES)
- Computers & Consoles - mainly from the 70's and 80's.
There are over 100 icons, and some of them are unfinished. They did,
however, seem to fill a gap - and they certainly pleased me. Most of you
will recognise some of Nonoche's icons - which are used in some famous
Macintosh emulators.
I hope you will enjoy them.
