MACBOOK PRO 15in HELP!?

Post by joalms » November 2nd, 2010, 9:29 am

So when I power up my MacBook it gets stuck on the loading screen where it's just waiting. I put in the osx cd and hold C as well as other commands but there is simply no response. Any ideas on how I can fix it?

So your MacBook is dead, completely off. You power it up, and you actually make it to the loading screen with the gray Apple?

Now, when you hold C, you have to do it immediately after you press the startup button, before your MacBook selects a System Folder to boot from because once it does that you have to restart again to do it over.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

Agreed, you must be holding down the C as soon as you press the button and hold it, holding it for maybe up to 30 seconds before it boots off a CD drive. Also, holding down the option key (separately) is the same deal. Hold down the option key as soon as you've powered up… And it should give you options on what to boot off of including SED in your drive.

Hope this helps

The next step may be trying to reset your PRAM which includes holding down a combination of four keys as he restart.

If u've alrdy tried all da above mentiond tips yet none working, den sorry2say ur logicboard's GPU is gone most probably n dere's no solution for dis apart frm replacing it. if ur mbpro is 2007-2008 serie? den im prety sure thats da case, i've been thru dis n seen lots of dese products issues. Depending on which MBP u've, it cud b da NVIDIA issue: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377

To see if da backlight has burned out, shine a light from behind da display through the Apple, and look at the front of the display to see if you can faintly see anything. If so, it may be a burned out backlight or bad inverter board. DO check da link mentiond above 4assurance. Howevr u can tryout "Expresslane" for online support @our apple.com.

GoodLuck
