Mac Problem or Handbrake Problem?

Post by Alicess » June 9th, 2010, 1:50 am

I have a DXG-569V camcorder. It can capture 1280 x 720 video at 30 fps and shoot 5-megapixel.It can output in both 4:3 and 16:9 aspects. Video is recorded in H.264, .MOV format, .M2TS format…
My Mac is eMac with Mac OS X version 10.4.11

Here is my problem:
When I convert my camcorder video in my Mac with Handbrake, I get the beach ball of death. Sometimes it won’t get past the apple loading screen. When it does, it freezes on the desktop.

Something wrong with my Mac or handbrake? How to detect? If it is Handbrake, please name something alternative I can use.

Not sure if it's handbrake, but you can try something else and if it doesn't have the same effect, then it is Handbrake. You can try just using QuickTime X if you're on Snow Leopard, or search VersionTracker for some alternatives. Also, are you using the most updated version of Handbrake?

Handbrake works just fine on my system FYI.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.

I use Mac OX S. And I did a search for alternative, say WinX HD Video Converter for Mac. The result showes that handbrake really outdated. You can download that program too, in case your handbrake is broken.BTW, from the page, I notic that this program is free for a certain period.

Snow Leopard is the nickname of the current version of Mac OS X... version 10.6.x.

We get like dozens of spammers posting links to video conversion software every week so, any time something like that comes up we generally disregard it as spam.
