How does the installation of Desk Accessories using the Desk Accessory Mover
affect the performance of the finder. I recently modified my system file by
removing some of the std equipment desk accessories and installing some
useful DAs (e.g. the MockUtilities, the Delete File, the Corvus Calendar,
the Eject&Reset). Afterward, I had all sorts of problems including the
inability to copy files from one disk to another--the mac would crank on the
copy for a while then come back and tell me that the "copy could not be
completed, try another disk". I resolved the problem, I think, by removing
two of the DAs using the D.A.M. Since then things seem to be OK.
Any information on problems with too many DAs (what is a reasonable limit?)
or with the DAs named above would be greatly appreciated.
The one useful desk accessory that I am missing is a DA which could copy
files. It would also be nice to "Get Info" on any file from within an
application.
I also had some trouble with the fontmover. DOes the fontmover reclaim the
space taken up by fonts in the system file when you delete them? My
experience says that it does not.
