I found an interesting problem with MacWrite. I was testing some of the
fonts I had installed by typing the following on a line:

abc abc abc abc abc abc abc

where each set of letters were a different font (all 18 point). When I got
to the seventh one, the disk drive began spinning, and never stopped. I
could still do things in MacWrite, but response time slowed considerably.
The problem ended when I moved some of the fonts to the next line of text.

Apparently, MacWrite has to keep all of the fonts for the current line in
memory, and it ran out of memory after the sixth font and started swapping.
There was no error message. Checking "About MacWrite" showed that 96% of
the memory was available. Of course, the fonts are probably stored in a
different section of memory.
