Hi there I am new to the MAC today!! this is my first one. my ? is i host tournaments online in spades room and i use to use the program keyboard express to run macros in the lobby with shortcut keys .. by macros i mean groups of words that would run with the touch of the keys assigned to them. for instance.. it might have "welcome to my tournament. Tourney time is @ 10 am (web link) and current time " I usually had some fancy stuff before and after the sentences too. Can someone tell me if there is a simple program to do things like this on Mac?? ty ty ty in advance

I don't really understand what you're asking. Were these macros some kind of setting or preference inside a particular program? Or was it a system wide key command that you would press and paste "welcome to my tournament" in any program you happened to be in?
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
Re: New to mac need help finding a compatible program
I use a program called Typinator for this, and there is also a well-regarded program called Textpander.
Typinator: http://www.ergonis.com/products/typinator/
Textpander: http://www.smileonmymac.com/TextExpander/
Your new Mac (not capitalised btw) actually has a limited version of this built right in under system preferences -> Language & Text -> Text, but this won't be suitable for the custom strings you probably need to put together.
