Experience with Jupiter Jack?

Post by johnny51 » January 3rd, 2010, 10:30 am

Has anyone tried "Jupiter jack"?
Got it for Christmas and can't get it to work.

There is no apparent connection between my iPhone and the radio

There isn't a direct connection. It's supposed to be a radio transmitter of your iPhone's audio. From the commercial it says to plug it into your iPhone, set your radio to FM 99.3 and it's supposed to be like a radio station basically. Surely it must mention this somewhere on the box or manuals?

Not refering to a hardware connection. Followed the instructions and I hear nothing through the radio. Seems simple

Then maybe it's a piece of junk? :o Does it take batteries or anything?

It's probably safe to assume any tech gadget peddled two for $10 by Billy Mays probably isn't designed or tested to the highest standards.

In addition to iamdanpalka's insightful post above, it should be mentioned that many cities have 99.3 already taken up with radio stations, in which case the device won't work terribly well. If the Jupiter Jack is incapable of scanning for and using "empty" frequencies in your area, then yes I'd have to say its a piece of junk.
