I am trying to decide which MacBook Pro I should get. The 17" of course has more generous screen real estate, looks really awesome, and is more powerful (or is it?) but the 15" I would imagine is far more portable and I really do plan on carrying this thing around a lot.
Is it a case where most 17" customers carry their laptop around less than 15" customers? Does anyone with a 17" ever find it to be a burden or does it really matter?
And what about cost savings - with the lower cost of the 15" I can get perhaps more options?

if you want the portability, get the 15" with expose and spaces you don't need the extra space, imo. i run 8 spaces and that gives me just enough space. i was at 4, then 6 and now 8 but i use it all pretty well. and with the quality of the screen i don't even notice the size since the resolution and quality make everything look amazing.

I would say that when considering the two options, you shouldn't trade performance or features for the larger screen. It sounds like you're pretty hesitant as it is, and it's probably best to go with your gut feeling. I'd say the 15" is perfect for you.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
