Subject: [*] 4OP Librarian 1.0.1

4OP Librarian is an application for the Macintosh which allows you to
make up library of voice data for 4-Operator Systhesizer by YAMAHA.
One window has one voice data, and you can open windows as many as you
want. (It's only limited by partition size of the application.)
When this application receives bulk dump MIDI data, new window will open
and show you the parameter. You can keep 32 patches in one file, so it's
easy to replace 4-Operator Systhesizer's internal patches.

Supported Synth :
DX100, DX21, DX27, DX27S, TX81Z, WT11, TQ5, YS100, YS200, B200, V2 or V50
(I have NOT checked for all of the synth, though.)

Features :
Fat Binary.
Apple Script recordable.
Macintosh Drag and Drop support.
Inline input support for Japanese text.

What's changed in 1.0.1:
Wrong Sys.Ex message sent out when you adjust the envelope parameters
--> Fixed.

Requirement :
System7 + QuickTime or System7.1
Apple MIDI Manager or OMS

Save Protected.

Aaron 1.2 (January 26, 1996) by Greg Landweber and Edward Voas
(c) 1991-1996 Greg Landweber and ISYS Development Corp.
>From the authors of Greg's Buttons, Greg's Browser, and DoubleScroll.

Why wait for eight? Your Mac can have the Copland user experience today!
Just drop Aaron into your Extensions folder, and your Mac will look just
like the Copland screen shots in all the Mac magazines. Aaron gives you
3D Copland-style windows, scroll bars, buttons, folder icons, menus, fonts,
pop-ups, and progress boxes. Aaron is a fat binary for Macs and PowerMacs.

Version 1.2 uses the window color from the Color control panel for menus,
scroll bars, and progress bars. There are MANY other improvements including
fixes for problems with FaxState, Notes, Finale, and the windowshade feature.

Subject: [*] Alpha 6.1 text editor

This is version 6.1 of Alpha, a completely customizable and programmable
text editor especially tuned to handle source code and LaTeX files.
Alpha is:

o Powerful. Alpha uses Dr. Ousterhout's Tool Command Language (Tcl) as a
scripting language. Tcl is rapidly becoming a popular extension language
over many different hardware platforms.
o Customizable. Any function or keystroke sequence can be bound to any key,
menus are completely user-specified and modifiable.
o Emacs-ish. Alpha supports many of the key bindings and central concepts
of GNU Emacs. It is not a port, however, and uses a Tcl instead of LISP
as an extension language.
o Multi-modal. Alpha supports mode-specific:
bindings
menus
keyword colorizing
Alpha currently has 20 different modes, including modes for the following
languages: Ada, C, C++, Fortran, HTML, Pascal, Perl, Postscript, Scheme,
SQL, Tcl, and TeX (including both LaTeX and LaTeX2e).
o Interoperable. Alpha allows user scripts to build and send arbitrary
AppleEvents. Currently, the default configuration of Alpha inter-operates
with several different compilers, including CodeWarrior and Symantec C/C++,
several LaTeX implementations, including OzTeX, DirectTeX, and Textures
(although Textures' AppleEvent support is currently very weak), and several
other applications, such as MacPerl, BibTeX, Excalibur, the ToolServer, and
Eudora.
o Native on the PowerMac.
o Uses the latest Apple technologies, such as Drag and Drop, and AEGizmos.
o Uses Ramon Felciano's Mercutio menu definition routines.
o Internet Config-aware.

Alpha is ShareWare, $30.

Subject: [*] Arnold's MIDI Player 2.5b

*** Arnold's Midi Player 2.5b ***
(Shareware $10 or a nice postcard if you're a poor student)

A.M.P is an application that plays any MIDI file on the Macintosh itself or
on an external synthesizer. It is fast because it doesn't need to parse the
whole MIDI file as true sequencers do. Just drag and drop a MIDI file on
its icon or its window and the song is playing ! You can change controllers
and programs, build a song list like a junke-box... Moreover A.M.P. is
MIDI Karaoke aware.

A.M.P. needs
- a Mac LC with system 7.0 (or better) and "Macintosh Drag and Drop"
extension (inclued in system 7.5). System 7.5 or better is recommanded.
- QuickTime 2 extensions or Apple MIDI Manager extensions or OMS extensions
or MIDIShare extensions

You can choose between two kinds of MIDI output:
- QuickTime Music (to play with the Mac internal sound circuit)
- Apple MIDI Manager / Opcode Open Music System / MIDIShare (to play on
real external MIDI devices on the Modem/Printer port).

New in 2.4b/2.4.1b
- better karaoke display
- 'Score' window that gives a piano-roll style visualization
- Fix a bug with system 7.1 that makes the floating windows like modal dialog
- OMS (Open Music System) support
New in 2.5b
- MIDIShare support
- You can go anywhere in a song (like QuickTime players)
- Misc interface changes and bug fixes

Greetings,

Following several customer reports of problems using the BBEdit 3.5.2
update package downloaded from info-mac, we have inspected the update
package that is in /info-mac/text/bbe, and did indeed determine that
it had been mangled by malevolent alien intervention. It's not the
same update package that is available from our private FTP and Web

Consequently, we have re-uploaded the update package to the /incoming

the package currently in /info-mac/text/bbe with this new upload.

Thanks for your assistance, and our apologies for any inconvenience

This is a maintenance release (the last). It fixes all but
one known bugs (and a workaround is provided for that one).
Documentation is also beefed up. This file is intended for

critical for anyone who already has a copy.

Devil in a Blue Dress is a completely new scenario that uses
the Marathon 1 engine, but exists in a reality far removed

It consists of 20 all-new, carefully prepared and tested levels,
with an intricate storyline, original artwork, and some neat
little perks. It has been four months in the making, and is

Subject: [*] Dvorak keymaps for left, right or both hands (v. 1.0.1)

Hi,

This set of three keyboard layouts includes the ergonomic and efficient
Dvorak keymap in the ANSI standard version for both hands, and variations
for those typing with either the left or right hand only. The ReadMe file
includes pictures of the three layouts. Requires system 7. Free for
non-commercial distribution and use.

Why Dvorak?

Keep using the standard layout (QWERTY) if you want to, but consider
this - the letter arrangement of QWERTY was designed to help prevent the
typewriters of the 1800's from jamming. This is why the QWERTY layout makes
typing as difficult as possible - that was its goal all along. The difference
between typing with the worst possible layout and the best is incredible,
and helps to explain why those who have tried Dvorak never want to go back.
Naturally, the difference for a one-handed typist is even more astounding,
when using the Dvorak layouts designed for single hand use.

These layouts were produced by Dvorak International ([email protected]), an
organization offering advocacy and education about the keyboard design. DI
distributes a quarterly newsletter as well as a wide range of health and
efficiency studies about keyboard use.

FundManager 3.0 is the latest version of a program I wrote to keep up with

equities, fixed incomes, and cash. In each of these categories, either the

Subject: [*] Knot 3.3 - abstract 3-D graphics designer

Knot lets you create large 3-D color animations and stills of
beautiful abstract knots. You design the knot's form, colors, motion,
backgrounds and lighting - or design and render entire animations
automatically. It's an endless source of gorgeous moving backgrounds and
photocollage elements for your work.

* Easy to use: knots will design themselves if you want, or you can exert
fine control
* Exports standard QuickTime and TIFF files
* Fast background rendering: still pictures in a few minutes,
animations in a half-hour
* Create red/blue 3D stereograms with one click. 3D movies too!
* Beautiful graphic interface

Knots are 3-D abstract shapes which many people say look "something
like intestines", but MacFormat magazine says "Design fantastic,
beautiful images on your Mac with this easy to use graphics program. With
a wealth of options to stretch your artistic talent, the program produces
its wonderful creations in just minutes."

Version 3.3 adds high resolution, new lighting effects, more 3-D, more
examples, and more speed. Multiple colored light sources illuminate
curved, segmented, glowing, buckled, iridescent, and segmented strands,
with animated previews, all in 24-bit poster-size color.

Knot requires a color Macintosh; System 7 or later; QuickTime for
making animations; and at least 6MB memory (8MB recommended). You can use
your creations with any paint program or movie player.

Are you new to programming, and are interested in an introduction to
programming? LogoMation is programming language that you can learn all by
yourself.

Or perhaps you are an experienced programmer, and just want to find out
what LogoMation is all about and what can be done with it.

Programming with LogoMation is so easy, that a seven years old boy can do
wonders with it.

Programming with LogoMation is so powerful, that even experienced
programmers can become addicted to it. I even know of a case of an expert
programmer who actually skipped lunch once, writing a powerful animation
program in LogoMation (yes, she survived).

LogoMation is used by individuals at home, in schools, and in universities.
It has registered users in the North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Version 1.1.1 runs in native mode on PowerPC. The package comes complete
with a tutorial, a reference manual and many examples.

PrinterSwitch 1.0 Beta 1 is the first beta release of Brookline Software's
newest product. Hope you like it!

PrinterSwitch is a system extension that allows you to easily select

eliminates the need to use the Chooser to select a printer.

PrinterSwitch complements Apple's new Desktop Printers because it allows
you to select different print devices even if your application won't let you
drag & drop documents onto a Desktop Printer.

This is beta software. PrinterSwitch has been tested on many Macintosh
configurations, but I cannot guarantee it is 100% reliable. Please don't
use PrinterSwitch 1.0b1 if you are uncomfortable with beta software.

Brookline Software is releasing this beta software to the public so that
it may be tested across a wide range of Macintoshes, printers, and application
software. You can help speed the testing process by reporting how well
PrinterSwitch performs on your system. Please see the accompanying

Subject: [*] SetSoundVolume 1.5

How do you change your Mac's sound level? By going to the sound control
panel, right? By exiting whatever you are doing, going to the control
panels, finding the right thing, and then setting it. Well, suppose you're
in the middle of a game. Then what? Your boss is coming in... Then what?

The solution is SetSoundVolume, which is the simplest way to change the sound
level. And this version has been supercharged to allow use of the Function
keys, F1-F8 (and still allow other programs to use F1-F8!), to set the sound
level. F7 sets it to 7. No exiting, no nothing. Just pure simplicity.

SetSoundVolume is shareware, but compared with the number of times you'll use
it, the cost is extremely minimal. Imagine doing a routine task by hitting
just one key! You can completely customize the program, a control panel, as
well.

However you use your Mac, SetSoundVolume will make using it easier. Many
registered users have asked me why Apple didn't include something this good
with their computer. Until they do, there's SetSoundVolume.

Sincerely,
Alex Rampell

TableMaker will take your comma or tab-delimited data and convert it into

border, width, height, cell padding, cell spacing, caption, column
spanning, row spanning, header cells, and horizontal alignment. Your
formatting options are stored in settings files and you can save and reuse

It is very easy to use -- just drag and drop one or more text files
containing comma or tab-delimited data onto TableMaker. You will be
prompted to specify the settings file you want to use, and new HTML files

Subject: [*] WindowMenu v1.0: Lets you select windows directly

WindowMenu is a small utility that exists to let you do one thing:
jump directly to a specific window in an application. Although I have
a big monitor, I often find myself going through all kinds of
contortions to get to a window I know is open but that is buried under
a hundred others. Applications with "Windows" menus help things
somewhat, but you still have to make the trip to the menu bar.

WindowMenu will pop up a menu of all open windows in the current
application and let you select one directly when you click anywhere
while holding down control keys that you choose. It also lets you
define a hotkey to cycle forward and backwards through all open
windows. I use it every day and I think if you give it a try, you may
