Upmiss 'a' grade

Hi I was wondering if you could miss a OS X version out and still upgrade to the next version eg.

Mac OS X 10.5 to Mac OS X 10.7 without Mac OS 10.6!

Yes you can. In your example, simply ignore the Software Update program when it alerts you to 10.5.6, and wait for 10.5.7 to be released. Then, continue using Software Update as normal. It will download what is called a "Combined Updater" if you've missed a revision.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
