Re: no local sync in Mavericks
Great. Thank you very much!
Have now downloaded my photos and kept my music, but there is nothing about Contacts.
Should I join iCloud to transfer Contacts to my computer? Is that why the Apple support people were worrying?

Re: no local sync in Mavericks
Thanks for the explanation about the music. This is the source of myUSB idea:

seems to imply USB syncing is over: I did look here first!

Oh, good news all round then! I had heard iTunes-in-the-Cloud only kept music purchased from iTunes.

Re: no local sync in Mavericks
I mean I would like to sync it with my USB cable but apparently I have to join iCloud and possibly lose all the CD music I have put on my computers and other devices.

no local sync in Mavericks
I unthinkingly upgraded to Mavericks without realizing I could no longer sync my iPhone. Does it matter? Can I just keep running the iPhone? It's only a 3 so I suppose there are no upgrades. Dittto iPod. I'm worried about losing the CD music I have put on iTunes if I join iCloud.

Thanks, Turboladde—must have missed this.

Re: Cannot print since upgrade to Mavericks
I have the same problem, Mark. Thanks for alerting me to it. I haven't need to print since early Dec. so hadn't noticed. I haven't done anything about finding drivers yet. Did yours arrive automatically and how did you know it had arrived?
Will be glad to hear from anyone who's solved this and ...

windows disappearing sideways
I can't find the 'help' topic on this. I know it happens when I'm dragging windows about to see a lot at once and sometimes pull one too far to the right ... but how do you undo this this/get them back? (I know I should using 'spaces' etc. but haven't got around to it as I can never remember what I ...

Office for Mac and macros
I am fed up because Office 2008 doesn't allow macros. I am thinking of using Office 2004 concurrently, but someone has told me this is not advisable and I am certainly having trouble in 2004 with a large macro I have just imported. Do I have to buy Office 2011?
Any ideas?
