Subject: [*] 3D Control Panels(version 1.2)
3D Control Panel Icons are based on Copland(a.k.a MacOS 8). Most of the
icons have been made to blend in with Apple's icons, while others are my
own creation. There are thirty icons in all.
Version 1.2 lightened the icons drop shadow(now they actually look good)
and minor flaws were fixed on the icons and the readme. I also added some
new "extra" icons.

Why wait for eight? Your Mac can have the Mac OS 8 user experience today!
Just drop Aaron into your Extensions folder, and your Mac will look just
like the Mac OS 8 Default Theme (Aaron is based on Apple's official Mac
OS 8 interface specs). Aaron gives you 3D Mac OS 8-style windows, scroll
bars, buttons, folder icons, menus, fonts, pop-ups, progress boxes, Finder
window headers, and more. Aaron is a fat binary for Macs and PowerMacs.

Subject: [*] ANN: YA-NewsWatcher version 2.3.4
YA-NewsWatcher version 2.3.4 has just been released.
Version 2.3.4 is a bugfix release. The following changes or fixes have been
made since version 2.3.1.
* Synchronized with John Norstad's (original) NewsWatcher 2.1.4.
* Fixed the Status window Cancel button always disabled bug introduced
in 2.3.3.
* Fixed a problem with having to issue a Quit command twice if the
automatically get/put newsrc option was enabled, also introduced in
2.3.3.
* Did some fine tuning of the code called when YA-NW is busy (searching
text, threading articles, etc.) to improve performance, especially on
slower machines.
* Fixed a problem with some mouse clicks or keystrokes being processed
normally when they should be ignored (because the program is already
busy with a network operation).
* Added a work-around for the buggy, non-compliant Microsoft news server
that responds incorrectly to the XOVER command used to fetch headers.

Hello everyone,
Here is the new version 2.5.2x of the Boris's Patch for Aaron
Extension... This patch was updated to be able to upgrade the new 1.5.2
version of the famous Greg's Extension called Aaron.
This patch replaces all the standards "Copland-looks" icons provided by
the Aaron extension by some new ones as well as a lot of other things...
It provides you more colours, relief and fun too. Just try it and see...
I just did it, because: "It's much better with a Macintosh !"
New features of this new version:
- The icon of the alart boxes does not smoke anymore... Nice air!
- The bottons of the windows bars were changed for more "light"...
- Few lacking pixels were added to the scrolling bars,
...etc.
YOUR MACINTOSH WILL NEVER LOOK THE SAME!
Enjoy!
Have a lovely day,

CoplandCursor a little extension that changes your default black with white
outline cursor, or pointer, (that thing on the screen that moves when you
move your mouse, trackpad, or trackball) with a more =E6sthetic, color, and
especially 3D looking one. You should have a 256 (or more) color monitor
or it might look very bad. This extension works extremely well with
"Aaron", the extension that Coplandizes your Mac.
To make this cursor work just drop it into your "Extensions" folder inside
your "System Folder" and reboot. After all your extensions load you will
have a 3D color cursor.
Note: This extension is only a modification of Matthius Urlich's 'Color
Cursor'. I am not copyrighting the entire software because the would be
unlawful!

Subject: [*] Internet ToolKit for 4D (ITK) v1.1.3 update/demo
Here is version 1.1.3 of Internet ToolKit for 4D (best known as ITK) which
is now available for both Mac and Windows (95 and NT).
As usual, updated documentation can be found on ITK's Web server.
For general information about Internet ToolKit check ITK's homepage at:
http://www.jca.fr/jca/itk/
You can also have a look at some demonstrations made with ITK at:
http://www.jca.fr/jca/itk/demo/
What is Internet ToolKit for 4D ?
ITK is an 4D external package that provides full TCP and UDP support
directly inside 4D's language plus a lot of other useful routines to
encode/decode data into Internet standards (HTML, ISO, URL, etc)...
What can you do with Internet ToolKit ?
In a few words, any kind of internet client or server application (email,
ftp, www, dns, gopher, news, etc) because ITK offers a low level access to
TCP/IP and UDP. ITK transforms 4D into real server, not just a CGI.
What are the main features of Internet ToolKit ?
ITK gives the developpers easy access to the following:
- access to low-level TCP/IP and UDP using MacTCP,
- access to DNS (name to IP and IP to name),
- control the state of MacPPP (to open or close PPP connection),
- access to Internet Config preferences (get or set preferences),
- utility features to convert text to or from HTML encoding, MacBinary,
BinHex, URL encoding and ISO 8859-1 encoding, RFC date conversion,
- picture related routines to convert and send pictures (JPEG and GIF),
- some goodies like StopWatch routines and inter process communication
(message FIFO),
- ready-to-use examples for SMTP, POP3, HTTP, FTP...
ITK is a commercial product distributed by JCA S.A. directly through
the Internet. For North America, ITK is distributed by Foresight Inc
(http://www.fsti.com/) and in Switzerland by AJAR AG (http://www.ajar.ch/).
This version of ITK will automatically run in demo mode if you do not
provide ITK a valid licence number. To get your ITK licence number, use
ITK's order form available at:
http://www.jca.fr/jca/itk/itk_order_form.html

Jeremy's Control Strip Modules is a package of Control Strip Modules,
designed to work with Apple's Control Strip software. The modules are:
* Jeremy's CPU speed CSM - Displays current clock speed in MHz, or
indicates relative full/reduced clock speed with tortoise/hare icons. You
can also select the clock speed after you restart.
* Jeremy's Battery CSM - Replaces Apple's Battery Monitor module, but
displays more battery information in a smaller area! Also displays hard
drive status, modem status and remaining battery time.
* Jeremy's Clock CSM - Displays the current time. Via a popup menu, you
can customize the appearance of the display.
* Jeremy's Sound Volume CSM - A direct replacement for the Sound Volume
module provided by Apple. The icon shows the current volume setting in
both numeric and pictoral form, so you don't need to bring up the menu to
determine the current volume.
* Jeremy's Sleep CSM - A direct replacement for the Sleep Now module
provided by Apple. Via the popup menu, you can select whether or not to
bypass the dialog that appears when AppleTalk is active.
* Jeremy's Battery Time CSM - Displays Apple's remaining battery time on
PowerBooks that are capable of it. It can also "learn" the battery life on
any model of PowerBook, or display the elapsed battery time.
* Jeremy's Temperature CSM - Displays the internal temperature of a
PowerBook Duo or PowerBook 500 series.
* Jeremy's Application CSM - Displays a count of currently running
applications and DA's. Also has popup menu that lets you select foreground
application.
* Jeremy's AppleTalk CSM - Replaces Apple's AppleTalk CSM, but displays
more information.
* Jeremy's EnergyStrip CSM - Replaces the PowerBook or Energy Saver
Control Panel, and lets you adjust power conservation settings from the
Control Strip.
Release 1.6.2 contains a bug fix to the EnergyStrip CSM.

********* If you are familiar with fmpro databases read on**************
It can handle, at least, two different types of forms at the same time. To
do this
follow these simple steps:
1)Import your forms.
2)When you are ready, Go to Find under Mode and search for all records
with a field which is empty in one form type but not the other.
3)Put "=" in the field and click "find" .

Subject: [*] Program Switcher v4.2.0
For a long time, Windows(tm) users have enjoyed the ease of being able to
switch
between running applications with the alt-tab keystroke. Many Mac users, while
not envious of the other operating system, wished the MacOS(tm) would have a
similar feature. Program Switcher is meant to not only add that feature to your
Macintosh, but also improve on it so that the other operating system's
users will
wish their alt-tab feature was as good as the Mac's.
Features include:
- Five different switching themes: two based on the new Windows95(tm)
alt-tab theme, one based on the original Windows alt-tab theme, and two Mac
unique themes.
- The ability to quit any number of applications at one time
- The ability to hide background applications when a switch is perform
- User configurable keys and appearance
- FAT control panel
The new features over v4.1 are as follows:
- Added Power Keys, a collection of user configurable F-keys to perform the
following tasks:
-- Switch to last running application
-- Switch directly to the Finder
-- Quit all but the Finder
-- Hide other applications
-- Hide current application
-- Show all applications
-- Hide all applications but the Finder
- Added an option to make the switching window pop up underneath the current
location of the mouse.
- Made the switching window automatically expand when an application's name is
too wide to fit in it.
- Optimized the code to improve speed.

QuoteMan occasionally interrupts the user to display a thoughtful,
meaningful, humorous or provocative quote. QuoteMan comes pre-configured
with over 1000 quotes and gives the user the ability to add more quotes.
Users may also change the interrupt interval, make QuoteMan play a sound
when displaying quotes and change the display font.
Version 1.0.1 fixes a bug that only appeared in some configurations in
which QuoteMan would never allow the user to get past the registration

supercedes all previous versions.

YA-NewsWatcher version 2.3.4 has just been released.
Version 2.3.4 is a bugfix release. The following changes or fixes have been

Enjoy!
Have a lovely day,
Boris

Subject: [*] CoplandCursor Update
CoplandCursor v1.0
The cursor is =A9 1996 T.M.
The programming is =A9 Matthius Urlich
ALL RIGHTS RESERVED
Cursor'. I am not copyrighting the entire software because the would be
unlawful!
This update adds a different ReadMe.

It can handle, at least, two different types of forms at the same time. To
do this
follow these simple steps:
1)Import your forms.
2)When you are ready, Go to Find under Mode and search for all records
with a field which is empty in one form type but not the other.
3)Put "=" in the field and click "find" .
This will select all such records and these are all that will be
exported.

Subject: [*] NewtTurT 1.4 (Newt turtle tutorial)
NewtTurT 1.4 (Newt Turtle Tutorial) is an interactive tutorial (Newton book)
that will show how you can program in NewtonScript with turtle-style
graphics directly on your Newton using Newt. There is also a related book
-- NewtATut (Newt Application Tutorial) -- that shows how you can develop
an application with buttons, fields and other interface objects in
NewtonScript and save it as a package using Newt.
Keywords: tutorial, Newt, object-oriented programming, NewtonScript,
learning, graphics, mathematics, Logo
Changes in 1.4 (24 Nov 96)
- updated to work with Newt 3.3
- book created with Newt's Cape 1.3; package compressed
NewtTurT -- the book -- is freeware. "Newt" -- the native programming
environment for developing applications and doing graphical programming --
is shareware. Newt is not required to use this book, nor must it be
registered to try NewtTurT. If you have Newt installed on your Newton, you
can try the examples as you read. (You should be able to find Newt on the
same server/service where you found this book, under a Newton application or
development directory, with a name similar to newt-devenv-33.sit.hqx or
newt33.sit). This version of NewtTurT works with Newt version 3.3 (and
greater). It requires the NewtDraw plug-in to be installed.

Subject: [*] Program Switcher v4.2.0
For a long time, Windows(tm) users have enjoyed the ease of being able to
switch
between running applications with the alt-tab keystroke. Many Mac users, while
not envious of the other operating system, wished the MacOS(tm) would have a
similar feature. Program Switcher is meant to not only add that feature to your
Macintosh, but also improve on it so that the other operating system's
users will
wish their alt-tab feature was as good as the Mac's.
Features include:
- Five different switching themes: two based on the new Windows95(tm)
alt-tab theme, one based on the original Windows alt-tab theme, and two Mac
unique themes.
- The ability to quit any number of applications at one time
- The ability to hide background applications when a switch is perform
- User configurable keys and appearance
- FAT control panel
The new features over v4.1 are as follows:
- Added Power Keys, a collection of user configurable F-keys to perform the
following tasks:
-- Switch to last running application
-- Switch directly to the Finder
-- Quit all but the Finder
-- Hide other applications
-- Hide current application
-- Show all applications
-- Hide all applications but the Finder
- Added an option to make the switching window pop up underneath the current
location of the mouse.
- Made the switching window automatically expand when an application's name is
too wide to fit in it.
- Optimized the code to improve speed.

Subject: [*] QuoteMan 1.0.1
QuoteMan occasionally interrupts the user to display a thoughtful,
meaningful, humorous or provocative quote. QuoteMan comes pre-configured
with over 1000 quotes and gives the user the ability to add more quotes.
Users may also change the interrupt interval, make QuoteMan play a sound
when displaying quotes and change the display font.
Version 1.0.1 fixes a bug that only appeared in some configurations in
which QuoteMan would never allow the user to get past the registration
screen. This was a mistake and has been fixed. Accordingly, this version
supercedes all previous versions.
QuoteMan requires System 7.1 or greater and is shareware.
