Subject: [*] AGASlider 1.2, Source for a PowerPlant Control
AGA Slider v 1.2: A demo of an Apple Grayscale Appearance class.
AGA Slider is a Codewarrior 9/PowerPlant project for demonstrating the
CAGASlider class. It also includes "group box" and "bevel" attachment
classes.
CAGASlider is a PowerPlant LControl that looks like a slider from
the Apple Grayscale Appearance for System 7. It is not a CDEF.
Apple's docs on the AGA show you what things look like to the pixel,
but, alas, they don't explain behaviors. I had to guess, mostly by
imitating the sliders in the system control panels.
Note that, while Codewarrior 10 comes with it's own AGA classes, it does
not yet have a slider class.
Key Features:
The kind of slider (the direction of the point on the indicator)
is set via a pop-up menu in Constructor.
The number of tick marks, if any, can all be set in constructor.
Uses offscreen GWorlds for flicker-free tracking.
Reasonable black and white appearance, even when split across
multiple screens.
New in this version:
Reflects Apple's "flatter" disabled appearance (as of September 1996)
The direction of increasing values can be set in Constructor.

Subject: [*] Al_Bunny_Typing_Class 140c
In the previous uploaded version(1.40b), there is a serious bug which
blocks an important feature of this program. This version(1.40c) fixs
that.
Some major changes and bug fixs since version 1.40 are
1. Fix a bug which causes Al Bunny fails to open if the user close
Al Bunny last time with speed mode set to "user-defined"
2. Fix a bug in the pre-defined keysets. Now the non-US keyboard
user will feel that these keysets make more senses. For example,
in level 2 in German keyboard, the user practice 'z' instead of 'y'.
3. Fix a mistake in US-Dvorak keyboard layout file.
4. A change in Racing-Game. Now the obstacle will be moved up after
the user enters the string correctly.
Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Ming H. Kao

Subject: [*] Boris's Aaron 1.5.1 Patch...
Here is the latest release of the Boris's Aaron patch, for Aaron 1.5.1.
What does this patch?
This patch will replace the standard "Copland-look" icons provided by
the original Aaron extension version by new ones with much more colours
and fun. Just in order to add the little bit of "pizzaz" to your desktop
to improve your relations with your machine...
Just try it and see!
What's new in this patch?
- As a lot of people ask me, the icon of the Alerte windows does not
smoke any more... Nice air, isn't it?
- The bottons of the windows bars changed for more "light"...
- Few lacking pixels were added in the vertical scrolling bars...
etc.
Have fun and enjoy it just because: "it's much better with a Macintosh!"

Here is the latest version of the Boris's patch for the famous Web
Browser "Netscape Navigator" in its latest releases 3.0 and Gold 3.0.
(You'll find also in it a patch for the 2.xx version).
What does this patch?
This patch change most of the icons provided by the application as well
as the animation of the small "Browser" botton and the "starting
window". It provides you much more colours and fun too, just because:
"it's much better with a Macintosh!"
Try it and see!

Subject: [*] CDFinder 1.1
CDFinder catalogs CD-ROMs, ZIPs, floppies, SyQuests, and everything else
that turns (even your file server..) and allows you to search for anything
in those catalog files.
It is very fast, supports drag&drop, is PowerPC native (but also fast on
any other Mac with at least a 68020 CPU), and is bilingual
(English/German).
CDFinder is shareware (15 US$ for a single user license) and here in
Germany already quite popular.
Give it a try!

Subject: [*] Express Modem memory-fix patch 2.3.4
After installing the System 7.5.5 patch I noticed that my Express Modem
software stopped working. Instead of turning on the modem, the control
panel responded with a error message saying that there was not enough
memory to start the Express Modem. After talking to some Apple Tech
Support they noted that on many applications it was required that you
added 23k of memory allocation to some applications in order for them to
start under 7.5.5. Since it was not possible to add memory through the
Get Info field the Apple Tech told me that need to Clean Install and get
back to 7.5.3. I refused and took my own path to success. I simply
hacked the control panel with ResEdit (Apple's unsupported resource
editor) and changed the memory allocation from 530k to 700k. I also
changed the controll panel's version number from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4. After
having done this I created a free patch that will fix the Express Modem
memory glitch. Only use this patch if you are having problems using the
Apple Express Modem 2.3.3 software under System 7.5.5. If this patch
works for you please pass a note to Apple and myself.
Note: I recommend that you make a copy of the Express Modem control
panel before updating it.

Subject: [*] LibraryCataloger1.0.1 Keeps track of books and articles
Library Cataloger is an application to help you keep track of your personal
library, and to help you create bibliographies for papers, reports, and
other documents which include references. Library Cataloger requires system
7 or higher and both a PowerPC native and a non-PowerPC application is
included. No Floating-point unit is required.
This an application which I created to fill a need of my own. I
consistently find myself forgetting which papers I have photocopies of.
Also, just like everyone else who has to make bibliographies for papers, I
hate having to go through my papers to get all the information required to
complete the bibliographic entries. This application will help you keep
track of the books and papers you have, and it will help you make
bibliographies when you need them by exporting bibliographic data in plain
text or LaTex format.

rough copy of a phone book with letter writing, fax cover sheet making,

Modem (optional, but required for the telephony functionality).
Netscape Navigator & Internet Connection (optional, but required for the
e-mail and World-Wide-Web connectivity). *This read me file assumes that you
are using a Macintosh. The Internet functionality requires AppleEvents, which
are not supported on the PC. It also assumes that your modem & Internet
connections are properly configured. For configuration information, please
refer to your modem's manual and/or your Internet Service Provider.
If you have a modem connected to you computer, you can take advantage of the
telephony functionality. Click on the "Telephone" button next to the
indivdual's phone number to dial that number using your modem. Pick up your
telephone before FileMaker breaks the connection.
If you have Netscape Navigator and can access the Internet, then you can use
the e-mail and WWW features of Personal Directory. Simply click on the
"Envelope" button in the Detailed view and a New Mail Message will be created
within Netscape, addressed to the individual's e-mail address. Clicking on
the "Globe" button will connect you to the URL entered in the individal's URL
field.
You can print address labels for individuals with "Print Label" selected in
the "Detail View". Click on the appropriate button in the main menu. This
program uses the standard Avery 5160 mailing labels. Near Christmas, the
"Home Address" labels will print with a festive image.
Version 2.02 (September 4, 1996)
* Corrected a problem with "A" button in the List view (this was a problem
with version 2.01 only and not version 2.0)
* Added a Telephone Extension field to the Work Telephone number
* Corrected a problem on the Registration form (printed) which incorrectly
displayed the shareware fees.
* Corrected a problem with the Sort Order when clicking on the Find All

Subject: [*] Smoothplate font
This is a very nice font I downloaded off a local BBS and converted to
Macintosh TrueType. There was NO readme with the file, so I have made
one up. This font is similar to the one used in the movie poster for
Dazed and Confused, and on the Radiohead CD, "Pablo Honey."
I cleaned it up, added several characters (mostly added punctuation and
diacriticals), and changed the name.
It is 100% free, on the grounds that, although I did a LOT of work on
it, someone else had to have done most of the work before I got there.
It is copyright (c) 1996 Freeware Designs. You may distribute this font
freely, far and wide. If you feel like paying for it, send a $5.00
contribution to the Republican National Committee.

Subject: [*] Tagline 1.1
-Tagline 1.1 Press Release-
-Script Wizards Software-
Tagline's main usage, simply stated, is to create a random email
signature. This is accomplished by adding a one line quote or humorous
saying (a "tagline") to your email signature. Tagline 1.0, released in
August, did just that, but with one major flaw. This flaw, a limit on the
number of taglines in the tagline file, has been addressed and fixed with
this latest version, Tagline 1.1.
Other improvements on Tagline 1.0 are:
o Faster disk access -- spend less time waiting!
o Less RAM requirements -- run it on a Plus!
o Less disk requirements -- the application is smaller.
o Coded more efficiently.
o Documentation more clear.
Tagline 1.1 is available at our web site
(http://www.flnet.com/~bclark/), or at other sites across the Internet,
including Info-MAC and several others. Tagline 1.1 ships with a -/+100

Subject: [*] TrueClock? 1.7 (shows time in round window)
Freeware.
For any Mac running system 7.0 or later.
TrueClock? is a small application that displays the system time in a round,
resizable, movable window. You can choose colors for the hands,
graduations, background. (also compatible with black & white macs). You can
adjust the thickness of the hands, and disable the seconds.
A special bonus is its "omnipotent mode": when switched on TrueClock? will
float on top of everything else, hence always remain completely visible.
New with 1.7: full color support. Much improved "Design" dialog. Online
help added to the "About" dialog. Fixed various minor bugs.

CDFinder catalogs CD-ROMs, ZIPs, floppies, SyQuests, and everything else
that turns (even your file server..) and allows you to search for anything
in those catalog files.
It is very fast, supports drag&drop, is PowerPC native (but also fast on

(English/German).
CDFinder is shareware (15 US$ for a single user license) and here in

FileMaker Pro v3.x

Tagline 1.1 ships with a -/+100
tagline list, so you can get started right away. Documentation will cover
any questions you may have, but feel free to ask the author, too.
