Subject: [*] AliasCrony 2.0.1; Alias management.
AliasCrony is the ultimate alias manager. It has several features:
- Since aliases of applications lose the capability to have files dropped
on, when the original is on a different volume, AliasCrony can create
SuperAlias, a new alias kind, having drag capability always active.
- It can create aliases or SuperAliases and put them into specific folders
with one keystroke, if you're using the Drag&Drop mode. From its menus,
instead, you can select the destination folders by using a speedy way.
- It can update aliases (also as SuperAliases) on the fly or else through
its menus.
- It can add, to aliases, some useful custom icon, freeing a bit of space
on desktop (as before: you can add the custom icons on the fly or else by
using the proper menu).
- It can scan all on-line volumes to create lists of:
a) attached aliases,
b) unattached aliases,
c) aliases and originals on different volumes.
The created lists return useful infos about the aliases found, moreover,
>From these lists, AliasCrony can do several actions:
-It can retrieve and show aliases and originals.
-It can link/update/delete/move aliases.
-It can show the Finder's Info window, about aliases and originals.
-It can update aliases of applications to SuperAliases.
-It can trash the whole aliases list.
The AliasCrony 2.0.1 package contains two versions of the application:
AliasCrony 2.0.1 (68K) for 68K Macs or, in emulation, for Power Macs.
AliasCrony 2.0.1 (PPC) for Power Macs.
It's Internet Config aware and requires at least System Seven to run.
New since version 2.0.0
Correct a little little bug. The -128 error alert doesn't more appear.
Correct some menu items, adapting AliasCrony to the Apple Human Interface
Guidelines. Compiled with the latest Internet Config glue. Added the "Trash
all" button. Added capability to lock SuperAliases. Better list's cell
updating. Minor changes.

Subject: [*] CleanResource 2.1; a file utility for developer
Announcing the release of CleanResource 2.1! This program removes all names
of resource. To use it, just drag and drop files onto the application icon.
Caution: This program changeing resource's name, it had better that you have
a copy of your file.
Why this program?
Generally when we are developing a software, we give a name for each resource
for identification. But at the moment of distribution, this name is usually
unnecessary (except that you have called the function GetNamedResource or
the similar).
CleanResource is a freeware.
System requirements:
- System 7.1
- Any Macintosh
For more information, please read the Read Me file enclosed, or visit my
Web page:

Thanks,
Guoniu Han
I give permission for my program to be included on the Info-Mac CD-ROM.

FileMaker Pro (Version 3.1).
The archive contains:
#### faq.fp3
This is a template for FileMaker Pro 3.0 that contains my edition of
Frequently Asked Questions on FileMaker Pro.
The template itself demonstrates some of the powers of FMP, such as
calculations, buttons, recursive and conditional scripts, self lookups etc.
It is a good learning example about the features you may use.
This template is suited to collect your mail within, too. For that purpose
a special AppleScript is provided:
#### Eudora2FMP
This script may take all messages from an Eudora mailbox and pass its
messages to new records within faq.fp3. New messages, comnposed within FMP,
may get queued to the Out mailbox of Eudora. ... It requires AppleScript
and Eudora Light or Pro.
Any bug reports, new sections, comments or improvements are highly
appreciated.

Subject: [*] MacUpdate 4.0b5
MacUpdate is a general-purpose file synchronization utility
program written for Macintosh computers. It is simple enough
to be used for every-day backups, yet is flexible enough to
do specialized backups according to user-specified criteria.
MacUpdate can perform faster than other backup solutions
because it looks at the modification dates of your files, and
only copies to the backup disk if a file has been changed on
the original source disk. Files that have not changed since
the last backup have the same modification date, and are
ignored by MacUpdate. MacUpdate can also be configured to
create items on the backup disk that are new on the original
disk. Similarly, MacUpdate can be set up to delete items
>From the backup disk that were deleted from the original
disk.
MacUpdate is also useful when working on different
Macintoshes in different locations. You can use a Zip,
SyQuest, or floppy disk as a "shuttle disk", and do file
synchronization from one location to the removable disk,
then go to the other location, and do file synchronization
>From the removable disk to the other location. This
accomplishes synchronizing the two locations.
MacUpdate is very easy to use. You can drag icons directly
>From the Finder into MacUpdate's windows to add a Pair of
items to be synchronized. Even though MacUpdate is easy
to use, it is very flexible and powerful. Excellent
documentation is included.
$20.00 shareware.

Subject: [*] Netscape HyperArchive AppleScript
This AppleScript is for people who are addicted to MIT's Info-Mac
HyperArchive, but want to download files from a different (closer)
Info-Mac Mirror.
Stick it in your Apple Menu and when you find something in the
HyperArchive that you want, copy the URL to the clipboard, then run the
script. The first time the script runs, configure it with the mirror of
your choice. Follow the example. The script then makes Netscape get the
file you have selected from the mirror specified. If you want to change
the mirror, recompile the script with Script Editor and run again.
I could have used the InternetConfig Info-Mac Mirror preferences instead
of having to enter the mirror by hand, but I didn't get around to it.

Subject: [*] NPWDEF 0.5b1
NPWDEF (short for No Purge WDEFs) deals with a potential source of
instability in the Mac OS. As reported in MacIntouchm if an application
or control panel uses a custom resource of type 'WDEF' that is
purgeable, it could crash under certain circumstances. The problem
reportedly becomes more acute under low memory conditions and System
7.5. NPWDEF sets all resources of type 'WDEF' that it finds to
unpurgeable, thus eliminating this possible problem. You could use
ResEdit to fix all your files by hand, but NPWDEF can fix all the files
inside a folder or disk at one time.
Whatever your do though, read the warning that accompanies the software.
Freeware.

Subject: [*] Printing keyboard layout with TNGCB (postscript file)
This is a file witch should be downloaded to a postscript printer.
The resulting file is a picture of the keyboard with all the keys on it.
And it shows where those strange keys are hidden without using the
KeyCaps DA.
This file shows you a keyboard with a Star Trek TNG like character.
You can change the printfont by changing the name of the font (in the
ps-file) you like to be printed to its postscipt equivalent
For example:
kb-tngcb.ps prints the keyboard with a TNGCB-font layout.
If you like Times more, the simply open the kb-tngcb.ps with any
text editor, change "TNGCB" to "Times" save and download it to your
ps printer.

Subject: [*] q-emulator-lite-094.hqx
Q-emuLator Lite is a reduced and freeware version of Q-emuLator, the
Sinclair QL emulator for the Mac OS.
Current Q-emuLator Lite version (October 1996) is 0.9.4, which replaces all
previous releases.
The emulator is actually a virtual QL with up to 4M of RAM and access to
the video (in a Mac OS window), keyboard, Mac's file system, QL floppy
disks, sound, serial ports. Other features include mouse emulation under
the Pointer Environment, built-in ram disk, and compatibility with Sinclair
and Minerva ROMs.
Q-emuLator Lite's minimum requirements are system 6.0.7 and 2M RAM. A 68030
processor or better is recommended.
To use the emulator you need a copy of the QL ROM which you can get from
the World Wide Web or from a QL with 3.5" floppy disk drive (detailed
instructions in the documentation).
Feel free to include Q-emuLator Lite in the Info-Mac CD-ROM.

Subject: [*] Super Save v2.0.0
Super Save is an universal data protection utility. It performs two
functions that helps you preserve your hard work in case you system
should accifentally shut down or crash. First, it saves all the
keystrokes you make to a convenient save file. This helps you reconstruct
your data after an accidental loss. Secondly, it will periodically tell
the current application to save the document you are working on.
Main features include:
* Keystrokes are saved into daily save files.
* Active either at all times or only when an application from a
user-defined application list is the front program.
* A password bypass feature allows you to skip the recording of your
sensitive information.
* An auto-save feature to prevent you from working "too long" on a
document with out saving it.

Subject: [*] The Block 1.5.2
THE BLOCK is a simple protection-utility for your MAC. It invites the
unwanted visitor to enter a password at startup. But you need a trick to
go on...
There is nothing patched although it is a system-extension. Everything
will left unchanged, so this might be highly compatible with all
colour-MACs and all kind of software.
NEW FEATURES : v1.5.2 01/10/1996
- Changed THE BLOCK's appearance :
Implemented the new CDEFs and WDEFs by Zig Zichterman.
Implemented frame-CDEFs by Jim Stout.
Added a nice colour cursor.
- The 'Activity Log' works !
THE BLOCK will now give you an exact report when your Mac did a startup.
Now you may see that your kids understand your computer better than you
do...
- THE BLOCK will now shutdown your computer if you do a startup but then
do nothing for more than two minutes. Save energy!
- Fixed the Bug with the window redrawing when having balloon-help
turned on. No more disappearing window contents !
DISTRIBUTION
THE BLOCK is Shareware. You may freely distribute it as long as you
don't charge for it. Upload it everywhere!
If you want to distribute THE BLOCK with a commercial product (magazine
CDs etc), let me know and wexll come to some arrangement. When THE BLOCK
is distributed, it must be accompanied by ALL programs and
documentation.

ToScrap is, mainly, a Drag&Drop application, it copies data from dragged

into Clipboard, but the file containing the PICT remains closed. The data
copied can be pasted, naturally, following the usual procedure, but ToScrap
is very useful to check, quickly, the contents of files. For example if you
leave opened the Clipboard window then drag a 'TEXT' file on ToScrap icon,
you can read the text, comfortably and fast, without use a word
processor...
It can also, automatically, open the clipboard window and is able to copy
screen portions directly into Clipboard.
If you drag a file not yet supported, ToScrap let you the possibility to
copy one fork into Clipboard.
There's another nice and useful feature: from ToScrap about box you can
gather info about current scrap file, also you can manage some its aspect,
specifically clear the Scrap, read the Scrap into memory and put the Scrap
on disk.
ToScrap requires at least System 7 to run.
ToScrap package contains two versions of the application:
ToScrap 1.2.0 (68K) for 68K Macs or, in emulation, for Power Macs.
ToScrap 1.2.0 (PPC) for Power Macs.
It's Internet Config aware and requires at least System Seven to run.
New since version 1.1.0:
All modal dialogs are now movable. Temporary memory usage. Added support
for MacPaint files.Added support for 'JFIF' and 'JPEG' files. Added
capability to open normally the application by double click. Added screen
copy capability. Added Internet Config support. Added capability to open
automatically the Finder's clipboard window. Improved registration
procedure.

Subject: [*] Trainspotters Puzzle 1.2b -- crossword fitword puzzle
Trainspotters Puzzle makes fitword puzzles from a text file, or from
words entered by the user. A fitword puzzle is a type of crossword where
you get all the solution words and it's your task to fit the words into
the grid. You can print out the fitword puzzles in SimpleText.
Registered users get access to complete crossword solutions. The program
is 'fat', it runs native on Power Macs and also on 68K Macs. It requires
System 7 or later.
New in version 1.2b: 'license plates' generated by the program can now
be used in addition to words as input to the program; unregistered users
can now start with 1 word placed in the crossword.
You can see examples of crosswords generated by Trainspotters Puzzle at:

Subject: [*] AliasCrony 2.0.1; Alias management.
AliasCrony is the ultimate alias manager. It has several features:
- Since aliases of applications lose the capability to have files dropped
on, when the original is on a different volume, AliasCrony can create
SuperAlias, a new alias kind, having drag capability always active.
- It can create aliases or SuperAliases and put them into specific folders
with one keystroke, if you're using the Drag&Drop mode. From its menus,
instead, you can select the destination folders by using a speedy way.
- It can update aliases (also as SuperAliases) on the fly or else through
its menus.
- It can add, to aliases, some useful custom icon, freeing a bit of space
on desktop (as before: you can add the custom icons on the fly or else by
using the proper menu).

Subject: [*] ToScrap 1.2.0; Clipboard utility.
ToScrap is, mainly, a Drag&Drop application, it copies data from dragged
file, without open it, directly into clipboard. In other words, if you
drag, for example, a 'PICT' file on ToScrap icon, the PICT will be copied
into Clipboard, but the file containing the PICT remains closed. The data
copied can be pasted, naturally, following the usual procedure, but ToScrap
is very useful to check, quickly, the contents of files.

Requirements:
System 7 or higher; MacTCP.
Description:
Vremya is a simple freeware NTP client for Macintosh. It is small
application that alows various degrees of automation from none to waiting
for MacTCP to be opened, seting the clock and then quiting. Because it is
an application, it uses no system memory and causes no INIT conflicts.
