Subject: [*] Biorhythms 5.51c
"Our minds, bodies and emotions are governed by three natural cycles, known
as biorhythms. Once we realise how we are affected, we can plan our lives
accordingly, so that we take advantage of our peaks of energy and exercise
special caution on "critical" days. Biorhythms 5.5c is now highly acclaimed
worldwide, and generally agreed to be the most powerful, attractive and
original biorhythms program available on any platform. It supports Apple
events and Macintosh Drag and Drop. Use it to analyse your biorhythms, to
determine your good and bad days, and also your compatibility with others.
This is a shareware program."

After months of preperning the newest version of Codebook is released, with
tons of cheats and codes to mac games. Shareware distributors may add
Codebook to their commercially available CD-ROMs, Floppys, BBSs and more,

them. This is a FAT file and I'd belive that this app would work on any

Subject: [*] Cookie Cutter 1.0
Netscape creates a 'MagicCookie' file which it uses to store small amounts
of information for various web sites.
Cookies are useful to web sites for a number of things. These include user
authentication and tracking for marketing purposes.
There are a few applications available which trash the MagicCookie file on
a regular basis. This stops any site from being able to track you, but it
will also lose any useful cookies, such as ones used for user
authentication. Cookie Cutter gives you more control of the MagicCookie
file. It allows you to selectively remove cookies that have been placed in
your MagicCookie file. You can also set Cookie Cutter to automatically
remove cookies from particular sites (domains), each time you use it, and
to always ignore cookies from other domains.
Cookie Cutter is freeware, by Scott Barnham. Works only with Netscape.

Subject: [*] Deco 1.0
Based on a strikingly original game concept, Deco is not like any game
you've played before. Similar to Tetris in some respects, Deco offers
far more strategic "depth" than that game. In Deco you drop thin,
rectangular, multicolored pieces onto a square board. The board, along
with the pieces you've dropped so far, can be rotated 90 degrees. By
dropping pieces onto a rotated board, you can make pieces cross each
other. The goal is to make pieces of the same color cross, and avoid
crossing pieces of different color. Deco is very simple, and takes about
a minute to learn.
But Deco is also very complex. Unlike most games of the Tetris genre,
which essentially begin and end with your reaction time, Deco rewards as
much analytical thinking as you care to apply. As you play, you will
develop a variety of strategies to increase your scores. You'll find
yourself thinking about Deco even when you're NOT playing. Because of
this rich complexity, you'll continue to get better at Deco, continue to
get higher and higher scores, and continue to discover new things about
it, for a very long time. So the game will stay fresh and interesting
and rewarding for a very long time.
Deco can be set to four increasingly difficult variations on the game.
The easier levels will be suitable for young players and beginners, and
the more difficult levels will keep the game challenging as you get
better at it. Additionally, Deco can be played on two different size
boards, so you can play a quick game or a more complex and lengthy one.
Deco features a sophisticated background music option which plays a
selection of Ragtime and early Jazz piano pieces.
The full instructions to Deco are available within the game, under the
Apple menu.
Requires: System 7.0 or later, 256 or 16 colors, any size monitor, LC or
better Mac, 2000K free RAM. Background music requires QuickTime 2.0 or
later.
Shareware; $15.00

If you drag a folder over the DOS-Namer icon, all files and
subfolders are renamed.

MacSense News Roundup is a FREE monthly electronic magazine which focuses
on the mainstream Macintosh computer market. Each issue of MacSense
details the most significant news stories in the world of Macintosh
computing and explores how these new developments will affect every-day
Mac users. Packed with vibrant color graphics, it is the founding goal of
MacSense to shed light on a rapidly evolving industry. Moreover, because
MacSense is created and distributed electronically, it is the most
environmentally friendly method of publishing. We hope you enjoy this
issue!
The attached file is a Stuffit archive. You will need Stuffit Expander or
another Stuffit compression utility to extract it.
The color edition of MacSense requires a Macintosh with at least 16
shades of grey. For optimal viewing, we recommend 16-bit color. The black
and white edition of MacSense can be viewed on any Macintosh.

Greetings all,
Here is a copy of my Nervana 0.2 BETA application. It can be classified as
a game or an educational program. Nervana simulates an island with apes on
it. In this version, the user can control every aspect of the 20 apes on
the island. There is more information about the Web site and the
meta-theory in the readme contained in the hqx.
It is written for the 680X0, it is currently mono, it will function on all
Mac Systems from 5.x - 7.5. It will run in the background etc etc. The C
source code is available through the web sight.

Subject: [*] Okey Dokey Pro 2.0.1
Enclosed you will find Okey Dokey Pro 2.0.1, a utility control panel that
automatically presses the default button in modal dialog boxes after a
preset time limit.
Sick of your web/mail/news server being slowed down (or stopped!) because a
modal dialog is plastered in the middle of the screen?
Tired of coming back to your mac after lunch and having to dismiss several
'server blah went away' dialogs?
Fed up with standing by the printer wondering where your printout is?
(because you hit cmd-P, but forgot to hit return in the ensuing dialog?)
Irritated at the installer program, which is patiently waiting for you to
hit the 'Restart?' button in the final dialog, even though you have no
other choice at that point? (And you're off having coffee?)
You need Okey Dokey Pro!
This is the first release in over 2 years, and includes several new features:
*The option of keeping a log file of all dismissed dialogs, complete with
snapshots of the dialogs.
*An exclusion/inclusion list, which allows you to control which apps ODP
affects.
*Preference changes take effect immediately, no rebooting.
*Completely rewritten code, which is much safer than version 1.0.
*Balloon Help.
And best of all:
*It's completely free!
Enjoy!

Subject: [*] PortCloser - util
What is this program for?
Sometimes, when your printer cable is not connected firmly, or my
communication program like SitComm is freezed, you may escape the
freezed job by pressing "command-option-esc" and that makes your Mac's
serial port opened. The problem starts now.. The request for opening
printer port or modem port may be ignored because Mac thinks it's
already opened. In my case, the only solution was to restart my mac. But
Doing that wastes priceless time so I made this program.
This program will close the port you want to close.
This program requires :
- No Color monitor
- No PowerPC
- No lots of memory
* I would be happy if thie program is included on a CD-ROM.
I have no reason to prevent this program from being stored on a
CD-ROM.

Subject: [*] Program Switcher v4.1.0
For a long time, Windows(tm) users have enjoyed the ease of being able to
switch between running applications with the alt-tab keystroke. Many Mac
users, while not envious of the other operating system, wished the
MacOS(tm) would have a similar feature. Program Switcher is meant to not
only add that feature to your Macintosh, but also improve on it so that
the other operating system's users will wish their alt-tab feature was as
good as the Mac's.
Features include:
- Five different switching themes: two based on the new Windows95(tm)
alt-tab theme, one based on the original Windows alt-tab theme, and two
Mac unique themes.
- The ability to quit any number of applications at one time
- The ability to hide background applications when a switch is perform
- User configurable keys and appearance
- FAT control panel
The new features over v4.0 are as follows:
- Two new window switching themes: large and small icons in a
vertical list.
- An option to use the system hilite color to hilite the currently
selected application in the switching window.
- Auto-key feature which allows you to hold down the switching key
and Program Switcher will automatically advance you through the program
list.
- Arrow keys can now be used to navigate the program list.
- A "Try Out" option to preview what changes to the switching window
appearance will look like.
A bug was also fixed in this version that made Program Switcher crash
during startup on 680x0 Macs running under 24 bit memory addressing.

He asked me to send it to you to be posted on the Sumex server (having
an internet connection at work, I am too cheap to buy a modem for home
use --it's bad enough having to fight a 13 year old for computer
time--imagine if he had access to on-line services!).
This is the fourth or fifth version (the first was named Russell's

postcardware). If you have any questions, please contact me (Russ's Dad).
Thanx,

Subject: [*] SndSampler 3.1.1
KEYWORDS: Mac Macintosh sound snd edit editor record recorder sample
compression wave au audio compact disc AIFF AIFF-C CD
---------------------------
3.1.1 notes: this is a free upgrade to all registered users of 3.x.
Registered users of 2.x qualify for a special upgrade rate. This version
fixes a bug in the input gain and includes a new shortcut (press "1" to
make the input gain = 1), and some other minor fixes.
---------------------------
3.1 notes: includes a tone generator, allows you to select sound portions
via click & drag (see Goodies-->Options-->Sound Selection), fixes a bug in
raw audio import (byte offset), and includes other miscellaneous bug fixes
and improvements. Note that you will get this and many more upgrades free
when you register for 3.0.
---------------------------
3.0.1 notes: fixes a minor bug in dynamic pan, makes minor improvements to
the movie editor, fixes a bug in the insert 'snd ' resource batch mode,
fixes a serious bug in the record-to-file routine, fixes some minor errors
in the user's guide, etc.
---------------------------
Version 3.0 is the latest and greatest release of SndSampler, the ultimate
Macintosh sound tool. It is specifically designed for discriminating users
who want to create sounds for use with other applications. You can just
have a lot of fun with it, too! It's easy enough for the beginner, yet
sophisticated enough for the professional. Not to mention that it's
extremely compact: it won't take up a lot of disk space, and it won't
require a RAM upgrade just to launch it. Here are some of SndSampler's more
salient features:
- Supports 8 and 16-bit, mono/stereo, sample rates up to 64 kHz
- Native file formats: System 7 sound file, AIFF, AIFF-C
- Extracts/saves sound resources from/to any file or application
- Allows you to record sound data directly to your hard drive so you can
create sounds that are bigger than RAM
- Allows segmenting of AIFFs to facilitate working on sounds that are
bigger than RAM
- Imports/exports: Sun/NeXT .au, WAVE, QuickTime movies, CD audio tracks,
raw audio
- Any file of any type may be imported as raw audio using a wide variety of
options
- Sun/NeXT and WAVE file handling doesn't rely on QuickTime or the Sound
Manager (QuickTime can be quirky in these areas)
- Features extensive batch processing capabilities: just drop all 800 files
you want to downsample (for example) onto SndSampler's icon while holding
down the cmd key
- Allows synching of sounds to QuickTime movies and provides other
movie-editing features

Subject: [*] Word Translator 2.1
This latest version of Word Translator, a foreign language dictionary
program adds several new features to the application. A number of bugs
have been removed and the interface is now even simpler and easer to use.
It is now possible to change and add translations to the dictionaries.
The Word Translator web site has further information, numerous demo
dictionaries and useful information: http://www.tv.is/dori
This file contains several sample dictionaries but the whole selection is
available at the web site as well as in the included manual.
Sample dictionaries included:
English-Russian, English-Spanish, English-Portuguese
English-German, English-Italian, English-Finnish
Summary of new features and changes in this version:
Added a menu that allows access to dictionaries from within any program.
With this feature Word Translator can be used to translate words from
any text from all Macintosh applications. This is compatible with
Netscape and e-mail programs so you can look up words from web-pages and
e-mail documents.
Activated the user dictionary function that. Users can now add their own
words and translations to the dictionary. This adds three commands: Add,
Modify and Remove/revert.
Added a list that shows all modifications the user has made to the main
dictionary. The modifications are kept in a separate file so they are not
affected by version upgrades of the main dictionary.
Added two commands to import tab-delimited text to modify the dictionary.
It is now very easy to add custom vocalbury to the program, any text file
on tab-separated form can be imported both directly and through the
clipboard!
Removed the floating translation window.
Simplyfied the interface by placing the translation list below the word
list. Translations can be dragged directly from this list to other
programs that support drag and drop.
A native PowerPC version is now available, previous problems with
PowerMacs running 7.5.3 solved.

After months of preperning the newest version of Codebook is released, with
tons of cheats and codes to mac games. Shareware distributors may add

Background music requires QuickTime 2.0 or
later.

Subject: [*] Russell's Folders
Attached is a self extracting archive consisting of empty folders with
icons on the front of each folder. They were made by my 13 year old son
Russell Fagaly (using Resedit). To better describe it, please name it as
Icon'd folders V.3
He asked me to send it to you to be posted on the Sumex server (having
an internet connection at work, I am too cheap to buy a modem for home
use --it's bad enough having to fight a 13 year old for computer
time--imagine if he had access to on-line services!).
This is the fourth or fifth version (the first was named Russell's
Folders) with 837 iconed folders. The folders are freeware (OK,
postcardware). If you have any questions, please contact me (Russ's Dad).
Thanx,
Bob Fagaly
Please note that my address ([email protected]) is different than the
address used to send this message. THis is because my address is hooked to
a Windows95 (yecch) machine. Please address any questions to the
addrress.

A James Burton strategy game, now with several improvements and bug-fixes,
and much better instructions. Requires a Mac capable of displaying at
least 256 colors on a monitor of at least 640 x 480 pixels. A very
entertaining game: you are lost in the world of the stardust, a strange
kind of matter that responds to thought. You must travel from maze-like
plane to plane in search of your partner, who is also in the stardust. Got
4.5 out of 5 stars in the MacNet Journal (QuickTake shareware reviews).

I cant for the life of me figure out which updates to put into
disinfectant. 3.6 (as well as gatekeeper), both have pretty old
definitions, so if i were to get new ones, where would i go and how would i
go about explaining to these programs that they should use them.
I notice that the most recently worked on program seems to be 'rudolph'. is
this the new catch for free/shareware? its awful big, so i'm hesitant to
download it without knowing what it is...
thanks,
