Hello,

Enclosed is a 32-bit ray-traced rendering to use as a
startupscreen for all Macintosh and for all size of
monitors.

I tested the screen on Mac IIci 68030 and on a Power Mac.
To install the StartupScreen, just drop it into your
System Folder and restart.

Airport Simulator, version 1.0

This program simulates an airport.
Schedule plane arrivals and departures but avoid plane collisions! The
program works by itself but you can change arrivals and departures at any
time. Please DO read the README file (it's short!) and reading the
'About...' dialog is a MUST!

Subject: [*] Anagrams 1.4 -- fast and friendly anagram finder

This program makes it fun and easy to find interesting anagrams.
If you've tried Ars Magna or Karma Manager then we think you'll find
Anagrams a pleasant alternative. It's faster, has a lot more features
and a much nicer user interface. All the details can be found in the
About Anagrams dialog under the Apple menu. Make sure you read the
Handy Hints topic, and if you have an older version of Anagrams then
see the Version History topic for a list of changes.

Anagrams will run on every Macintosh model from a Mac Plus up to a
Power Mac (in native mode), and under any System version (4.1 and
up to be precise). It will also work with any type of monitor:
large or small, color or monochrome.

The bat phone book for FileMaker Pro version 3.0. It is a database for
storing names, phone numbers, addresses, email and more. Makes use of a
nice graphical interface which is very user friendly and includes
pictures of "Batman" and other celebrities from the film series.
Uses pop-up menus, scrolling menus, and has a special directory to print
out a list of names and numbers. Even better, it takes up only 200k.

The car repair catalogue for FileMaker Pro 3.0. It was designed to keep
track of the repairs done to a car. It auto-dates the entries, and allows
you to input the repairs, parts, cost, hours spent, mileage etc. It will
also keep a running tab on how much you've invested in repairs, and total
hours "wasted" on them. It also makes use of some nice graphics.

Hubert's 2D/3D Macintosh Icons r2.1 (96-08-24)

MAJOR ADDITIONS: Icons in the new "Cool!" section are more aesthetically
pleasing than technically accurate; screens are Finder Blue rather than
black, etc.

- Permission IS HEREBY GIVEN to include this archive on any CD-ROM,
commercial package, etc, provided that:
1) you inform me via e-mail ([email protected]) of your intent to do so;
2) the icons and resources within are not altered in any way;
3) all components (readme files, icons, resources) remain with the archive.

Unlike other Mac computer icon archives, almost every single variation of
Mac form factors can be found in both the 2D and 3D releases of this
collection (clones are exceptions for now). Small variations in Mac cases,
such as the "lip" found on all manual- inject disk drive- equipped Macs,
are included. For instance, the Quadra 800 icon set has 8 variations!
Whatever Mac and configuration you have, there will be a matching icon.
Also, these icons look great no matter *what* depth monitor you have
(except BW AND small icon, in most cases).

Icons are stored in ResEdit (resource file) and Finder format (folder with
icons ready for immediate copy-paste to hard drive. Arranged by family (ie
Quadras, PowerBooks).

Total individual icons: 56 normal icons + Cool! icons where applicable (2D
has more Cool! icons than 3D).

DOES NOT REQUIRE: Japanese Language Kit or KanjiTalk

What's New???

As of Joyo 96 v1.2, this Kanji study system comes equipped
with the Progressive Kanji Study Dictionary (PKS Dict).
PKS Dict adds new comprehensive power to Joyo 96.
Now after you master the 15 Kanji of any given Lesson,
not only can you search the example compounds
dictionary (EC Dict) for all of the entries which contain
the Kanji of that Lesson, but you can vastly expand your
vocabulary with the PKS Dict. Like the Example
Compounds Dictionary (EC Dict), you can select by
group number to call up vocabulary words which match
the Lesson# from the Joyo 96 Kanji dictionary you have
just mastered. The operation of this dictionary is
essentially the same as for the Example Compounds
Dictionary for the 1st Grade, but there is no "cmpd" tag.
With just the free 1st Grade PKS Dict, you will have a
vocabulary of over 1,000 Japanese words at your disposal,
and you will understand the Kanji used in every single
entry.

There is also considerable disk space reduction and other
qualitative upgrades. Read up about it in "Revisions".

See the Joyo 96 Web site and add it to your Hotlist:

http://members.aol.com/rosecorp/index.html

This first grade portion of the Joyo 96 Kanji Study System
may be freely distributed everywhere, and freely used to study
the Japanese Ministry of Education's 1st Grade Kanji, so long as
the entire original documentation and dictionaries and other
documents are distributed together in their original form.

MacZoop is an object oriented application framework for the Macintosh
written in C++. It is extremely small, and though lacking in some major
features such as container classes, it is an ideal starting point for those
wishing to learn OOP on the Mac, or knock up quick applications in a very
short time. It has been written explicitly with beginners in mind, but many
programmers should find it useful.

Version 1.3 completely supercedes all previous versions.

Subject: [*] Microsoft Installer Patch

If you've ever installed Microsoft Office 4.2.x, you know that Microsoft's
Setup application creates a folder named "Microsoft" in the root level of
your hard drive. Well, not only does this piss me off a little as a Mac
user -- even more because things BREAK when you move it -- but it created
an impossible situation at work which prevented us from putting Office on
300+ lab machines. (yes, I thought this was a good thing too :) ... but my
boss didn't.)

I fought with this problem for a while... and eventually, the Microsoft
Installer patch was born. It's a moderately skanky hack which you only
need to run the first time you're installing Office. It fools Setup into
thinking it's creating the folder in the root directory, when actually
it's being hidden away in the system folder. You only need to run it
once, while you're installing Office.

After the installation, you have a happy RegDB, which means that
Microsoft's bloated, fat, slow applications can find their files, and the
world is wonderful again. (That is, until you do something that Microsoft
doesn't approve of, like rename your hard drive. (*gasp!*) )

~MIP is public domain, and full source is included.

Here is a run only applescript that recites Reverend Robert Schuller's
"Possibility Thinker's Creed". Robert Schuller's Hour of Power
television show inspires people to dream big dreams because God is the
source of those dreams. To dream big dreams, you must face a lot of
people who have given up and inspire them. You must face negative people
with your positive faith. You can't really argue with them and anyway
the biggest argument you will ever have is with yourself, so you
shouldn't bother, but merely be a good example. Now, I had this creed
recited by the gala tea voice, "Ralph". I felt "he" needed that sort of
self-affirmation. Why do I speak of a robot voice as if he were a he as
opposed to an "it"? Could it be a new form of political correctness? You
bet, especially when a human being proceeds to refer to themselves and
others as an it. Shades of Martin Buber (Ralph is easier to understand)!

Subject: [*] WarpSearch CGI 2.0

WarpSearch is a *fast* non-indexed TEXT and HTML search utility that
functions in both local and CGI/ACGI modes. It works with any
CGI-compatible Macintosh web-server, including NetPresenz, MacHTTP,
WebSTAR, WebCenter, Web Server 4D, and many others. Speed tests on an old
Mac IIci measure WarpSearch at over 500kb/sec and the newer PowerPC Macs
perform far better.

v2.0 includes these exciting new features:

Revised search-reply URL file paths to work on all types of web servers,
regardless of file hierarchy.

Added ability to quit after (1,5,10,20,40, or Never) minutes of CGI
inactivity to conserve server RAM.

Added custom header and footer capability to search results page
(registered version only).

Fixed error in handling ISINDEX and URL searches from v.1.71.
