Subject: [*] ComboBox 1.2

This is version 1.2 of Pensacola Christian College's freeware ComboBox
external area for 4th Dimension. The following changes have been made since
the 1.1.1 release:

o Enabled the Paste menu item when appropriate.

o Made sure that the selected item in the list box always stays in sync
with the text in the editable area.

o Closed the list box window on the first idle event after the layout
window is moved.

o Used the black & white PICT resource for the popup-indicator button
on display devices having four (4) or fewer colors.

o Eliminated the last vestiges of the dead scroll bar problem.

o Allowed string arrays to be used for CB_FillLst() rather than requiring
all arrays to be of type text.

o Added CB_GetContRef() function to make ComboBox compatible with
Foresight Technology's "Container" and Automated Solutions Group's "Habitat."

o Added DrawBox flag to CB_DefSetFlags() and CB_SetFlags().

o Made the list window show up in the right place (above vs. below the
area) even on monitors other than the main monitor.

o Started using the real arrow cursor.

o Corrected a bug in which a compiled database would execute the
ComboBox's script twice when a button was clicked, considering it
unmodified both times.

o Fixed a bug where the text-entry area did not reflect the new size
after the font was changed.

Subject: [*] Extension NV 1.0

Do your friends laugh at you because you only have enough memory to run a
three measly extensions and one of them is your CD driver? Do you lose the
office power-user contest because you only have half of the NOW Utilities
installed? Does the guy down the hall whose Mac loads fifty extensions
really annoy you?

When your Mac starts up, Extension NV simply makes it look like more
extensions and control panels are loading than really are. It patches no
traps, uses no memory after it's done, cleans up after itself nicely, and
then quits, leaving your machine like it found it--and equally stable :-).
Impress those who are impressed by forty extensions loading on startup. Or
surprise that co-worker who has gone overboard with extensions by making it
look like he is loading another three dozen every startup.

Subject: [*] Mac TCP Watcher 2.0

Mac TCP Watcher v2.0 displays the internal data of MacTCP or Open Transport
such as the Mac's IP number and DNS name. It will also list all the
currently open TCP connections and the information on each of them.

It also allows you to test your TCP connection and your network, using the
ICMP Ping protocol, the UDP & TCP Echo protocols, and it tests out the DNS
by looking up the name of a given IP or IP of a given name. It also allows
you to use the traceroute functionality to observe the route packets take.
It should be useful to people having TCP configuration troubles, network or
Domain Name System problems, or the chronically curious.

Mac TCP Watcher requires MacTCP or Open Transport and System 7 or later. It
is shareware, US$10.

Changes since 1.1.2

- Open Transport native
- Traceroute facility
- PPC native
- DNS name lookups can return more than one IP
- OT connection list includes UDP
- Subtle rename (MacTCP Watcher)
- Shareware

Have fun,

=46or: Web Designers, Graphic Artists, Visually Impaired (maybe just

Uses: "Magnifier" is used to aid in graphic manipulation along with other
graphic utilities. It runs well in the background and can be sized, and
placed. This version runs with systemwide floating windows and only works
in 8-bit (256 color) mode. The next version will support the drag manager,
work with all monitor depths, use Mark Womack and Patrick Bores' "Scrap
Color Clipboard Format", and will allow the user to set the origin by
pressing a key combo. I wouldn't have released it so early, but I am
leaving for Virginia Tech and will not complete these tasks until
thanksgiving(yup, thats my deadline for the full version).

Copy/Use Permission:
"Magnifier 2.0=DF-FAT" is shareware and may be distributed freely according

accompanies it. If it is included in any bundled product such as a CD-ROM,

Credits:
This program was built in CodeWarrior 7. Special thanks to Mattias Ellert
for his Round windows WDEF, Troy Gaul for his "Infinity Windoid" WDEF and
to Matt Slot for his "appe windows" interface which provided me with
system-wide floating windows! Mark Womack and Patrick Bores' "Scrap Color

MATH DITTOS 2: Fact Controlled ADDITION & SUBTRACTION for Special Learners v2.5

This folder is a collection of fact controlled addition and subtraction
worksheets. It is a remedial, "ground-up" reteach of addition and
subtraction. Although it was not developed for initial instruction in those
operations, it has been used successfully that way with both regular and
special education students. Facts are controlled, or limited, to the
clusters shown on each page, allowing for review of the facts, a prompt for
unknown facts, and, most importantly, allowing the student to progress
operationally even though facts are not mastered. It includes 52 worksheets
with answers. The registered version includes 52 blackline worksheets, a
full set of color worksheets, and, of course, complete and accurate (gulp,
I hope) answer sheets--along with various and sundry extras.

Each page is an active ClarisWorks document and can be modified to suit
your individual needs.

This version 2.5 release is a major departure from previous releases. It
requires ClarisWorks 4.0 or better and uses only basic Macintosh system
software fonts (TrueType--Geneva, Helvetica, Times). A conversion for those

Phone List

A Hypercard Stack by Mark O'Connell

Have a computerized Rolodex/messagepad/datebook? Love how it works, but
hate the huge amount of hard drive space that it takes up?

Than Phone List is the answer. This tiny (only 14k!) stack can take care of
many of those Rolodex/messagepad/datebook horrors.

It features:

=A5 Space for name and address block

=A5 Full search capability over all fields

=A5 Automated phone dialing

=A5 Scrolling field that holds up to six pages of text for messages, etc.

=A5 Virtually unlimited database size

=A5 Copy and paste functionality works in all Macintosh applications

=A5 Automatic, personalized messaging and time stamping

=A5 Inexpensive

Requires HyperCard 1.2 or later or HyperCard Player.

=46or all of these features, I only ask for a mere 15$(US) ! Imagine, being
able to reuse all of that hard disk space that was taken up by that mammoth
Rolodex/messagepad/datebook.

An registration form and documentation are included in this archive. Please
read and print them to pay the shareware fee and for future reference. If
you wish to redistribute Phone List, Please make sure that all three files

Subject: [*] QUAD-Plot 1.13 - A Fast Graphing Application for the Mac!

QUAD-Plot 1.13 ) 1996, Robin Harmon, PlaNet-3 Software.

A Quick And Easy Plotter For the Mac!

This release fixes a number of bugs present in version 1.12. These concern
mainly the printing routines of the PPC version. See the Changes file for
details.

QUAD-Plot is SHAREWARE but it is FULLY functional!

Registered users of any previous version are also registered to use version
1.13.

For users who are new to QUAD-Plot:
QUAD-Plot is a plotting program that is ideal for scientists, teachers and
students at all levels. It takes any file of tabular data in the form of
ASCII text (Mac or PC) and allows you very quickly to produce and print
high quality plots. Indeed our design philosophy has been to make plotting
data easier and faster than possible in other plotting packages.

Requirements:
QUAD-Plot requires System 7.0 or later with at least 768 kilobytes of free
memory (1 megabyte for the PowerPC version).

Subject: [*] rnMac v2.0d5 -- an offline NNTP newsreader

This is version 2.0d5 of rnMac, an offline NNTP newsreader. Documentation
for the program is contained in the README file include in the archive, and
also in an online help window.

Changes for this release include:

August 1996 v2.0d5
- fixed bug that allowed editing of locked Waste text
- converted NNTP posting code to use Thread Manager (faster, stabler, easier)
- fixed bug that left dialog box onscreen when rebuilding highlighted groups
- converted all SMTP/NNTP code to use the Thread Manager
- implemented integrated "Network Status" control window
- names of groups marked to always download full articles are underlined in
list of subscribed groups
- added code to skip over checking of previously-checked article headers
when downloading article bodies (e.g. if comp.sys.mac.comm has 1000 article
headers listed in the group but only the last 25 are new, then the old 975
are no longer checked to see if they've already been downloaded-- only the
new 25 article headers are examined)
- added support for multi-line headers
- fixed bug that caused problems when transferring articles to archive
groups (header filtering was being applied-- D'oh!)
- adjusted disk-scanning code so that complete articles are read in, rather
than just the first few thousand bytes of the article (some articles have
huge headers, and problems arise if we can't read in certain important
header lines)
- disk-scanning code now correctly reports errors
- added support to obtain various relevant settings from InternetConfig
- fixed problem with stale MacTCP data (trouble occurred when PPP
connection was broken then regained with a different IP number while rnMac
was open)
- InternetConfig extra news headers are now saved as part of locally-posted
articles
- added support for saving articles with full headers
- added my own MovableModalDialog() function; movable modal dialogs should
now behave completely correctly (I hope) - expanded group settings editing
capabilities so user can now see what the NNTP server's available article
range is, what the article range is for the locally-cached copies of the
server's articles, and the range of articles that are assumed to have been
downloaded already (being able to edit these things is useful if strange
errors occur)
- added infinite timeout (well, automatic retry on timeouts) for attempts
to connect to SMTP/NNTP server
- simplified font settings (also made them InternetConfig-compliant)
- added printing capabilities
- more...

Soup is a simple but strangely entertaining program that takes your phone

fast (generates about 30,000 solutions per second on a 100Mhz PPC 601) and
uses relatively little memory (2.5MB), at least compared to Soup2.

probably do so by quitting or something equally harmless.

The HEK 3000 Personal Desktop Assistant

The HEK3000 PDA is the ultimate desktop helper/system utility. By utilizing
new software technologies developed at the Griffin Labs, the HEK3000 system
is able to perform feats once thought impossible. Tasks such as monitoring
your work for errors and correcting them immediately, backing up documents
as they are changed/created, monitoring your network or TCP/IP connection
for problems and correcting them on the fly, cleaning of removable media
automatically without chemicals or user involvement, and removal of
dangerous protons from your hardware.

Well, maybe not. Actually, the HEK3000 PDA is just a desktop toy. I like to
think of it as a cross between the dearly departed Talking Moose and HAL of
2001 fame. It doesn't really provide any benefit, nor does it actually do
any real harm (despite what it claims to be doing).

The HEK3000 PDA is released as shareware with a price of $5.00 and requires

VersaTile is the power user's launcher and file manipulation utility. After
using VersaTile you'll never want to go back to rummaging through the
Finder's folders again.

What's New in 2.0?

* Clipping Support - You can now drag text, pictures, and sounds from other

contents of the clipping tile using the clipping tile file peeker.

* URL Support - When used with Internet Config (included in this package),

internet application and process the URL request.

* File Peeker Technology - VersaTile's new File Peekers allow you to view

and JPEG files without having to open another application. File Peekers can
be extended to view other file types using VersaTile's new plugin

* VersaTile Agents - VersaTile Agents are small tile resident applications
designed to perform specific tasks for you. Click on an Agent and let it go
to work.

* VersaTile Plugins - VersaTile Plugins are a convenient way to extend
