Subject: [*] 3dVirtual Embroidery Demo
3dVirtual Embroidery is a little program that takes an embroidery file (a
program that can be stitched) and displays it in a 3d life-like way in the
screen.
Very useful for embroidery related people who can make virtual proofs of
their embroidery programs and also make printed or electronic catalogs and
publish them in the WWW, but also for mac anthusiasts who want to take a
look of what the commercial embroidery world is.
Also is very fun to see the animation of how the embroidery is "stitching".
Included are 3 real embroidery programs and a gif image as sample.
How the demo is limited: a) you can't change the color order b) You can't
save.
Thank you

Subject: [*] A Problem of Language
"A Problem of Language" is an electronic publication which can be viewed on
any Macintosh with a colour monitor and StuffIt Expander. It is a story,
taken from a larger work-in-progress, which looks at the difficulties we
encounter when we try to communicate abstract ideas.
It is free and may be uploaded anywhere, so long as the entire contents of
the folder are kept intact.

Subject: [*] CopyThru2.2.9
CopyThru v2.2.9 makes duplicates of HFS volumes with the option of
segmenting the copy through a fixed (or simply not-removed) volume. In
other words, it is a multi-pass block copier for removable media.
Say you have a single 1Gb removable-cartridge optical and 100Mb of
available hard disk space. You want to copy optical volume A: to optical
volume B:. If you drag sets of folders manually from A: to the hard drive,
eject, and then drag them from the hard drive to B: then it takes you 6
hours with 34 ejections & insertions. With CopyThru it takes a mere hour
and only requires 11 ejections & insertions!
CopyThru fills up your hard drive (or as much of it as you permit to be
filled-up) with blocks, ejects the source volume, requests the destination
volume, and then repeats until the copy is completed. Since it does
asynchronous block-copying, it is much faster than Finder-dragging.
Version 2.2.9. 680x0 Macs. 170Kb application partition, (but it swipes
all the system memory that it can get away with!)
Version 2.2.9 has multiple bugfixes (e.g., saves window positions
correctly) and an option for safer spinner handling. May work for
PPC (I need beta testers!).
E-mail-ware. If you use it, send me e-mail and let me know.

Subject: [*] Escape Velocity - Forklift Patch
ACTIVATE FORKLIFT
This is a very simple plugin for Escape Velocity that arms the
default shuttlecraft with the mysterious 'forklift' weapon,
which does pretty much exactly what you think it does. The
whole 'forklift' thing (see sound) is a reference to Mystery
Science Theater and is certainly not the only reference to that
show in the game.
PLEASE NOTE: in order to use this patch correctly, you'll
probably have to start a new game. If you've got an existing
game where you've got a shuttlecraft already, this patch won't
do much.
Escape Velocity is a game for Macintosh by Ambrosia Software.

This version 3.0 allows you to select skill level.
FastGun is a western style shootout with a town full of badguys.
Start by shooting bottles for target practice (lot's of fun). Then take on a
few of the badguys at the local saloon, bank, or meet them in the alley.
Should you survive.....you'll be "called out" by one of three brothers for a
gunfight. Test your quickdraw skills. Better be fast though. In this game
it's be quick, or be dead. (OK OK ya got three lives...)
This game is in 256 color and loaded with sounds (some hidden) and music

Function Master is an application for graphing and
manipulating functions like polynomials, fractions,
trigonometric, logarithmic, and exponential functions. The
user can specify the coefficients of the function and change
them interactively to see the effects of each coefficient on
the overall behavior of the function.
The demo version is limited to { Tan(aX^2 + bX + c) + d }.
Version 1.1 adds Native PPC support and a better console
display.
Version 1.0.1 fixes a bug that causes the demo to crash on
some computers.
The full version will cost $10. Special FPU 68k version
could be arranged by special request. The current version
is in FAT Binary format (68k/PPC versions in one).
I can be contacted by e-mail at: [email protected]. Also,
please visit my experimental web site where I have other
demos and information available. The address is

Bug reports and comments are appreciated. If there is a
function you would like to see included please drop me a
note.
Please distribute this demo freely. It could be included on
the archive's CD ROM
We hope you enjoy the demo version

Subject: [*] GifScan 2.0
Attached please find GifScan 2.0, an new version of the application already
in the archives. Use GifScan to easily generate IMG SRC tags including WIDTH
and HEIGHT for all your GIFs and JPEGs. GifScan also generates HREF tags for
non image files. Drag all files onto the icon or into the main window to start
the processing. All tags will be automatically copied to clipboard and can be
dragged from the main window. You can also save the output to a file, a
custom header and footer can be automatically added to easily generate indices
of many files. You can also use GifScan to get detailed information from your
GIF files. See the enclosed docs for more detailed information.
GifScan 2.0 requires a flavour of System 7, takes 88k on disk and prefers
500k of free memory. It may be included on CD-ROMs.

Subject: [*] Mac KeyCaps
Mac KeyCaps is an increasingly popular shareware font designed to resemble
as closely as possible the keys on a Macintosh keyboard - even down to the
slight curvature of the keys themselves. Every key - including function
keys - is represented, often in several versions, along with odds and ends
like the "caps lock" light and the stripy apple, and the modifier key
characters are sized proportionally. The package includes PostScript Type 1
and TrueType versions, with a comprehensive key reference chart. Works best
at large sizes. Ideal for instructional documentation.
I have received a glowing endorsement from Steve Ingram, President of
Dvorak International, promoters of the Dvorak keyboard layout. He is
switching to Mac KeyCaps for all their literature and says: "I've since
come across two more fonts similar to MacKeyCaps, but they are shabby by
comparison. MacKeyCaps is the best thing out there... I am VERY busy
promoting the Dvorak layouts. Anything that makes this volunteer job easier
and quicker is most welcome. MacKeyCaps does just that, and it looks great
too!" He encourages users to email him at for a
newsletter, to see Mac KeyCaps in use.
I'd be delighted for Mac KeyCaps to be included on the commercially
available CD-ROM of the archives.
Many thanks

OrgaNicer Control Strip is a control strip module that allows you to launch
OrgaNicer files directly from the Finder. To have any use of this program
you should have the Control Strip extension installed on your computer, or
alternatively a shareware program which provides the same functionality,
such as Desktop Strip. Needless to say, without the OrgaNicer program this
module won't do you much good.
To use it, place the module in the Control Strip folder in your system

Subject: [*] The Seferiad
"The Seferiad" is a selection of short prose pieces and aphorisms, which are
taken from a larger work-in-progress. On one level, it tells about a wise man
who will not admit to being a wise man, and the relationship he has with his
students. This is also an attempt to encapsulate a particular philosophical
perspective, which is expanded upon in the larger work. I've chosen to
publish some of my work electronically largely because the current print
market is glutted (and maybe just a little bit hidebound), and I'm more
interested in getting my ideas out to people than I am in impressing academic
critics (or making the best seller list along with the likes of Newt Gingrich

publish them in the WWW, but also for mac anthusiasts who want to take a
look of what the commercial embroidery world is.
Also is very fun to see the animation of how the embroidery is "stitching".
Included are 3 real embroidery programs and a gif image as sample.
How the demo is limited: a) you can't change the color order b) You can't
save.
Thank you

If you've got an existing
game where you've got a shuttlecraft already, this patch won't
do much.
