Subject: [*] Aaron 1.3.2 (Fat)
Why wait for eight? Your Mac can have the Copland user experience today!
Just drop Aaron into your Extensions folder, and your Mac will look just
like the Copland Default Theme will (Aaron is based on Apple's official
Copland interface specs). Aaron gives you 3D Copland-style windows, scroll
bars, buttons, folder icons, menus, fonts, pop-ups, progress boxes, Finder
window headers, and more. Aaron is a fat binary for Macs and PowerMacs.
Version 1.3.2 fixes a few minor bugs and conflicts.

Subject: [*] Analog 1.9b6 - Fast, professional WWW logfile analysis
Analog is a WWW logfile analysis program. It has the following
advantages over other similar programs.
*It's fast. Very fast.
*It's easy to install and run.
*It's very flexible. The default output will be satisfactory for
most people, but there are over 130 options producing 16
different reports for those who want to do things differently.
*It produces attractive output that complies with the HTML
spec (and so can be read on any browser).
*It understands MacHTTP and WebSTAR log format as well as the
common log format, NCSA old-style format and the NCSA/Apache
referer log, agent log, error log and combined log.
*It should work on any Macintosh and versions are available for
Unix, Windows or OS/2 machine (and some other DOS machines).
*And it's free.
This is a port of Analog 1.9b6 to the Macintosh. It does not support a
Macintosh style user interface or the Analog form cgi. I've added
support for MacHTTP and WebStar Enhanced log files (WebStar
version 1.2.1 or higher).
Full source for Metrowerks CW8 is included.

Subject: [*] Arnold's MIDI Player 2.6b
*** Arnold's Midi Player 2.6b ***
Shareware $10 or a nice postcard if you're a poor student.
A.M.P is an application that plays any MIDI file on the Macintosh itself or
on an external synthesizer. It is very fast because it doesn't need to
parse the whole MIDI file as true sequencers do (but it can also parse any
file very quickly if you want to have more control).
Just drag and drop a MIDI file on its icon or its window and the song is
playing! You can change controllers and programs, build song lists like a
junke-box... Moreover A.M.P. is MIDI Karaoke aware.
A.M.P. needs
- a Mac LC with system 7.0 (or better) and "Macintosh Drag and Drop"
extension (inclued in system 7.5). System 7.5 or better is recommanded.
- QuickTime 2 extensions or Apple MIDI Manager extensions or OMS extensions
or MIDIShare extensions
You can choose between two kinds of MIDI output:
- QuickTime Music (to play with the Mac internal sound circuit)
- Apple MIDI Manager / Opcode OMS / MIDIShare (to play on real external
MIDI devices on the Modem/Printer port).
New in 2.6b
- Supports type-0 Karaoke file
- Displays piano keyboards
- Pitch transposition controls

Subject: [*] Confidentiel 1.2.1 FR
Confidentiel 1.2.1 FR is a file encryption utility.
A control panel intercepts any flow of data between documents and
applications, encrypting or decrypting on the fly as needed. Thus, any
application can transparently access encrypted files, provided that the
proper key (which is contained in a small application) is present on the
system. A demo key is supplied; while it is fully functional, it does
not provide any real security, as anybody downloading this software has
the same key. Private keys may be purchased from the author.
The software and its documentation is in French.

Subject: [*] Fonts Manager(tm) 3.0
Fonts Manager(tm) 3.0 is functionally similar to the System 7.5.x
Extensions Manager, but it is NOT a control panel. It is more like a
Desk Accessory. It allows the enabling and disabling of font
suitcases and printer fonts in 'Sets'. It supports Balloon help and a
Topical Help system. Unlike other utilities, such as Suitcase(tm) and
Master Juggler(tm), it works on ALL Macs with System 7.1 or later,
including 7.5.3, without modifying the NORMAL startup and operation of
your computer. Over 5000 worldwide running all kinds of Macs have
switched to Fonts Manager to get 'Up & Running'.
NEW:
Fonts Manager 3.0
- only 10 Sets per copy (much faster)
- BOTH suitcases and printer fonts are managed
- changed folder layout inside System Folder

Glidel is a system extension that extends the Finder's drag-and-drop
abilities within System 7. You can select any icon currently visible,
either on your Desktop or in an open folder, and drag it to:
* The Open, Print, Get Info, Sharing..., Duplicate, Make Alias, Put Away
options (and Reveal Original starting with system 7.5) on the File menu;
* Any application or folder in the Apple menu, including those accessible
via a third-party hierarchical menu utility such as BeHierarchic, NowMenus,

Subject: [*] GM's Aid 1.01
GM's Aid 1.01
By Ben Birney, Syzygy Cult Software
GM's Aid is an aid to the GURPSr role-playing system for the Macintosh
computer. It is essentially a database program, a calculator, a dice roller,
and a character sheet all rolled into one. We designed it to help both GURPSr
GMs and players keep track of vital statistics and information. It is not
designed as a replacement to the GURPS books, merely a supplement. Cataloging
the immense amount of GURPSr literature into one program would be both
awkward and large.
v1.01 fixes a bug in v1.0 that caused a crash in a very isolated and
imporbable situation. But, of course, if we hadn't fixed it, everybody would
have gotten it.

Subject: [*] Grapple_1.0 - string finder for the Macintosh
Grapple is very simple to use and fun. Set up a string that you wish to
find, tell it where to start and hit the search button. Grapple then
searches recursively through the folder hierarchy for files of the type (or
types) chosen containing the string you desire. Matched strings are
extracted and listed in a window for you to browse through. At the end of
a search, select any file from those listed and either view it from within
Grapple, have the Finder display its location or open it with the editor of
your choice - all at the press of a button!
Give Grapple a try! Whether it be a lost mail message, a vaguely remembered
idea that is lost in a sea of business reports or the definition of a C
function in one of hundreds of source-code files Grapple will find it! I
urge you to experiment and see for yourself.
Grapple is fully functional SHAREWARE.
Feature Summary.
* Grapple lets you search quickly from a specified starting folder
Choose your search options:
- recursive through sub-folders or not
- case sensitive or not
- aliases can be followed or ignored
* Set up your favorite file types to search
- group file types together to search general classes of files
* See at a glance how the search is proceeding
- Halt a search midway at the press of a button
* Background searches are painless
* Results of a search are listed clearly in the Found Window
Button options allow you to:
- Open files containing a match using your favourite editor
- Open files using the parent application
- View text of files from within Grapple
- Find and open the parent folder and select the file's icon
* Save the search results for later use
* Multiple search windows are indexed on the Menu Bar
* Summary statistics of all your searches to date are kept and can be seen
in "About GrappleI"
Requirements.
Grapple requires System 7 or later with 384K of free memory for the 680x0
version or 500K for the PowerPC version.

About InterSLIP Remote
With InterSLIP Remote you can control InterSLIP. You still need InterSLIP;
InterSLIP Remote is just an addition. To create new configurations, edit
them and switch between them you still need InterSLIP Setup.
InterSLIP Remote has four main features which InterSLIP Control and
InterSLIP Setup does not have: with InterSLIP Remote you can measure the
time you are connected to the Internet, it can redial (this feature can be
turned on or off) if the modem of your provider is busy, it keeps a
detailed log of all your connects/disconnects and connection times, and
last but nor least it is scriptable.

Subject: [*] Jade 1.03
Jade 1.03 is a multithreaded JPEG viewer for the Mac which is
relatively lean but is extremely fast and sports some
unique features:
Multithreading gives you constant access to all of Jade's features:
especially useful when used as a helper for a web browser or when
you just want to decompress two images at once.
Through the use of it's own virtual memory scheme, Jade can have
many files simultaneously _regardless of their size_
This is because decompressed images only occupy a little RAM and
the actual image is stored on disk. This feature allows you to do
batch viewing jobs which is especially useful on slower machines:
drop a ton of JPEGs on it and get a cup of coffee. When you return,
voila!
Jade can also display JPEG's at their full size or in a small (but
quick!) preview size in addition to the standard screen size. This
coupled with a delete file hot key allows users to sift and filter
through many images with ease.
Jade is also one of the first JPEG viewers to support Progressive
JPEGs which are becoming prominent in web sites.
new in 1.03:
--Mostly bug fixes
--Resizable Image Windows
--Get Info command for image info
--Automatic Slideshow does fades
--Manual Slideshow "open one image at a time" option now enabled
Jade is FAT. Requires 68020 (or higher) or PowerPC, Thread Manager or
system 7.5 (or later).
It's also FREE.

Subject: [*] Kalk 1.0.8
Dear info-mac Moderators,
Kalk is a simple RPN calculator, with a 20-level stack, that knows the
four basic operations plus some trig and log functions.
There are lots of desktop calculators out there. Why one more? I made
this one for my own personal use, because I wanted a RPN calculator,
but not that huge monsters I've seen around, almost complete
implementations of scientific HP machines. Those were great
calculators, but they fill almost the whole screen with tens of
buttons and switches. At the end of one week I usually was back to the
classic Apple calc, because it's small, fast, doesn't create auxiliary
files on the disk, and don't have big manuals.
So, the first goal on Kalk design was to make its window the same size
of Apple's. Then remove all digit buttons from the panel, making area
for more information (six of the 20 levels of the stack are shown).
The only buttons remaining are those used everytime and those that are
hard to remember without a label (Drop, Swap, Enter, Undo, Change
Sign, Clear). Digits are entered via keyboard, and the special
functions are grouped on the "Kalk" menu.
Using Kalk is very like doing simple math on a 28- or 48-series HP
calculator. As for the Apple calc, the numeric keypad of your keyboard
(hope you have one) is the best choice.
There is now a WWW home page about Kalk in general. If you're
interested, please look
http://cantor.lmf-di.puc-rio.br/Staff/T ... kHome.html
I've attached a HTML file to the Kalk release, so you can simply open
the "Visit Kalk Home.html" file in your WWW browser instead of typing
this string. The page also contains information about the ports of
Kalk to Unix and Windows.
Changes for this version:
1.0.8 Added inverse functions (arc cosine, arc sine, exp, and square)
to the Kalk menu; they are accessed by pressing the Option key while
selecting the menu. This feature is wanted by many current Kalk users,
as for the e-mail messages I've got from them. Released 960510.
Also little changes on the documentation and web page.

Subject: [*] Mac-FTP-list Version 4.1.3
Keywords: MAC FTP LIST GRUBB GLEASON ANONYMOUS SITES INTERNET HTML
Type: Freely Distributed
Archive name: mac-ftp-list-413.hqx
category: communication, text
This is the latest {June 1, 1996} version this report and should replace the
previous version of mac-ftp-list.txt.
This is a update {June 1, 1996} to Mike Gleason and Bruce Grubb's Mac FTP
list. It lists over 200 mac anonymous ftp sites (some with notes), over 65
Mac web pages, and contains some instructions on how to use anonymous ftp and
find files as well a format chart showing which programs decompress and
decode which files. Also there is a section on how to use certain files.
This archive contains both the text and html versions.
Please note that the html part is actually four crosslinked files:
mac-ftp-list.html, ftp-list.html, www-section.html, and site-notes.html that
require HTML Browser such as Lynx, Mosaic or NetScape to view.
Must be in a monospaced font to be readable; Courier 10pt is recommended,
though Monaco 9pt or a PC equivalent can be used instead. Needs StuffIt
Expander or equivalent {unsitins.exe} to decompress.
Please send newly discovered macintosh sites (with IP numbers and directories
to check if possible), bug fixes, and comments to: [email protected] or

Subject: [*] NetLink Remote 1.0.5b4 ( An ARA alternative )
What is NetLink Remote?
NetLink Remote is a network extension that allows you to use
AppleTalk over a modem. When you connect with NetLink Remote, you can do
anthing that is possible when on a local AppleTalk network. You can use
AppleShare to work with remote files, play AppleTalk only games like
Marathon and F/A-18 Hornet, or use any other software that supports
AppleTalk networking.
NetLink Remote was written as an alternative to Apple's ARA
software which was too expensive for most individuals and too slow for
demanding games like Marathon. NetLink Remote's high speed modem protocol
has been optimized for realtime games and in most cases is much faster than
the built in modem support provided by some games. NetLink is also great
for managing files on a remote system. Using AppleShare, the remote volume
can show up on your desktop and be used like a local drive.
Features
* Remote AppleTalk access
* High speed modem protocol optimized for realtime games
* Background autoanswer capability
* Customizable modem settings for optimum performance
* Supports AppleGuide online help
System Requirements
* System 7.0 or later
* Supports Open Transport 1.0.8 or later (1.1 or later highly recommended )
* 2400 bps modem, 14400 bps or faster modem required for realtime games
* High speed modem cable
* 68020, 68030, 68040, or PowerPC Processor
* 300 KB of disk space
* SerialDMA 2.0.2 or System 7.5 Update 2.0 Recommended for Power Mac or AV
machines.

PS: >>OpenStacktable HTML utility)
TableMaker will take your comma or tab-delimited data and convert it into
HTML tables. You have control over many formatting options including the
border, width, height, cell padding, cell spacing, caption, column
spanning, row spanning, header cells, and horizontal alignment. Your
formatting options are stored in settings files and you can save and reuse
them as you please.
It is very easy to use -- just drag and drop one or more text files
containing comma or tab-delimited data onto TableMaker. You will be
prompted to specify the settings file you want to use, and new HTML files
are created containing your tables. Each data file can even have more than
one set of data separated by a blank line and the resulting HTML file will
have separate tables for each set of data.
New features since version 1.0.1 include the ability to create new settings
files without editing them manually and the ability to select a default
settings file to use automatically.
The TableMaker application comes in two different forms. "TableMaker
Droplet" is much smaller but you can only use it if you have MacPerl
already installed on your computer. "TableMaker" has a run-time version of
MacPerl built-in so it doesn't require anything else to use it.

SYSTEM 7: Dependent
It seems that everyone has made an attempt at creating backgrounds. There
are some wild and exciting backgrounds available, but your eyes go crazy if
you leave them on your screen for longer than a minute. And I certainly
wouldn't want those wild and crazy backgrounds on my screen when I am
giving a computer presentations to my Graphic Design clients. Are you ready
for something different?
These Desktop Background Textures are High-Class and Unique. The textures
used are 3 dimensional. The kind of textures that look like you could reach
out and touch them (hence the name;"Touch-Me Textures"). If you have a
color monitor with your Mac and you like it looking sharp, these
backgrounds will make your Mac style'n!
Touch-Me Textures Vol.3 contains a variety of 14 (128x128) backgrounds made
to run in 8, 16, & 24 bit color using Desktop Textures 2.1. These
backgrounds are sharp & professional and were originally designed to be
used as multimedia backgrounds.
I have also uploaded Touch-Me Textures Samplers. There for those people who
want a quick downlaod to see if they like my background textures. It has 4
different Touch-Me Textures (different from those in vol.3). The Samplers
are Freeware. Look for the Samplers in the same place you found this one.

URL Clerk is a URL launcher. The URLs are stored in files, so you have all
the flexibility of the Finder at your disposal. URL files can be placed on
the desktop, in the Apple Menu, or anywhere that's convenient for you. URL
Clerk can also open up bookmarks created by Aladdin's CyberFinder or URLs
stored in clipping files. To find out more about URL Clerk's features, use
the provided balloon help. You should have no trouble creating and managing
your URLs with URL Clerk's simple and uncluttered interface.
New in URL Clerk 1.2 is a find function which allows you to search for a

- Pitch transposition controls

and a character sheet all rolled into one.

* Background searches are painless

Subject: [*] InterSLIP Remote 1.2.2
About InterSLIP Remote
With InterSLIP Remote you can control InterSLIP. You still need InterSLIP;

Features
* Remote AppleTalk access
* High speed modem protocol optimized for realtime games
* Background autoanswer capability
* Customizable modem settings for optimum performance
* Supports AppleGuide online help
System Requirements
* System 7.0 or later
* Supports Open Transport 1.0.8 or later (1.1 or later highly recommended )
* 2400 bps modem, 14400 bps or faster modem required for realtime games
* High speed modem cable
* 68020, 68030, 68040, or PowerPC Processor
* 300 KB of disk space
* SerialDMA 2.0.2 or System 7.5 Update 2.0 Recommended for Power Mac or AV
machines.

border, width, height, cell padding, cell spacing, caption, column
spanning, row spanning, header cells, and horizontal alignment. Your
formatting options are stored in settings files and you can save and reuse

It is very easy to use -- just drag and drop one or more text files
containing comma or tab-delimited data onto TableMaker. You will be
prompted to specify the settings file you want to use, and new HTML files
are created containing your tables. Each data file can even have more than
one set of data separated by a blank line and the resulting HTML file will

New features since version 1.0.1 include the ability to create new settings
files without editing them manually and the ability to select a default

These Desktop Background Textures are High-Class and Unique. The textures

Touch-Me Textures Vol.3 contains a variety of 14 (128x128) backgrounds made
to run in 8, 16, & 24 bit color using Desktop Textures 2.1. These
backgrounds are sharp & professional and were originally designed to be
