Subject: [*] Addiction Manager 1.0.1
Addiction Manager 1.0.1
Addiction Manager is a program for helping people manage addiction to
computer games and other stuff (like the internet). It creates aliases to
programs just like the Finder does. However, with Addiction Manager's
aliases, you can restrict access to your programs.
Version 1.0.1 is a minor fix to version 1.0. The passwords are no
longer echoed to screen (sorry about that).
Here are a few of the features included in versions 1.0 and 1.0.1:
- The ability to make the original file invisible from within
Addiction Manager.
- Addiction Manager can speak your restriction messages aloud if you
have the Speech Manager installed.
Addiction Manager is shareware (US$10). It is fully functional and is
not crippled in any way.
Addiction Manager requires System 7. It is 68000-based code. While it
isn't required, to use Addiction Manager's speech capabilities, you must
have the Speech Manager installed (preferably the most recent version of
PlainTalk).

Canvas 3.5.4 (Mac) Updater
File Name: cv354updater.hqx
Date: March. 4, 1996
Size: 4,119K
Authors: Deneba Software
Platform: Mac OS
System Requirements: Canvas 3.5.x
Requires Stuffit Expander to unstuff and decode the downloaded file and
ShrinkWrap or another utility that can mount disk image files.
oThe Canvas 3.5.4 Updater is a utility that updates all previous versions of
Canvas 3.5 for Mac OS, including 3.5.0, 3.5.1, 3.5.2, and 3.5.3, to version
3.5.4.
Version 3.5.4 is the current shipping version of Canvas for Mac OS. It
includes a number of improvements, including new tools for file import and
export. If you have an earlier version of Canvas 3.5, you should update to
version 3.5.4.
The Updater is contained in three disk image files. You need to use a utility,
such as ShrinkWrap, to mount the disk image files before you can run the
Updater. These utilities are available on many of the Mac archives sites, as
well as Deneba's ftp server and web pages (ftp.deneba.com and www.deneba.com).
An included Read Me file explains how to work with the disk images and use
them to update your installed Canvas program.

Subject: [*] Compact Disk Library 1.2
I am uploading the following for Mike McGee, whose address is given at the
end of this text.
Compact Disk Library 1.2
The Compact Disc Library is a FileMaker Pro template that will allow you to
conveniently view, print, sort, file, save and organize your Compact Disc
collection. With the Compact Disc Library, you can search through your CD
collection for various artists, song names, ratings, categories, and even
lyrics to a song! This is hands down the most creative use of FileMaker
pro layouts on the market. You can even import the CD cover artwork onto
your layout with the click of a mouse! Sample CDs are pre-loaded to give
you and idea of just what this template can do! Also, with another click
of the mouse you can even play a sample recording from your favorite
artist, OR record your artist's track right from the FileMaker Pro layout!
It's amazing!
However, the thing that really sets The Compact Disc Library apart for the
rest, are the graphics! The graphics for The Compact Disc Library are
second to none. Each menu has an elaborate graphics backdrop for making
data entry easy and amazing to look at! You really must see the graphics to
believe them!
This file is shareware, however a shareware registration fee of only $10
(US) will unlock ALL of CD Library's features! This shareware fee includes
a free upgrade to any and all future releases of CD Library as well! Hey,
it's only 10 bucks!

Subject: [*] DocAssembler 1.0 - A document management utility
Version 1.0 - March 1996
DocAssembler is a document management utility. It collects text documents,
which are supposed to be "sections" of a global target document, then
produces that document. It's a sort of document "glue".
The output document's structure can be arranged by changing both the order
of the sections and their hierarchical level, relying upon DocAssembler for
their automatic indexing.
Both the source and the output documents can be provided in a variety of
formats, thanks to Claris XTND System support. DocAssembler will read and
write any text document for which an XTND translator is available.
Other features include drag & drop support to ease the rearrangement of
the sections, aliases support to allow for transparent moving and renaming
of the source files and AppleScript support for total remote control and
recordability.
Although DocAssembler is conceived as a standalone application, its value
is greatly enhanced when used togheter with its companion DocBreaker, which
can break a document in pieces and supports the XTND System as well, thus
constituting an ideal pre-processor for DocAssembler.
Shareware $20 by Amedeo Farello or
Requires System 7 and the Claris XTND System.
May be included on the InfoMac CD-ROM. Thanks!

Subject: [*] DocBreaker 1.0 - A document management utility
Version 1.0 - March 1996
DocBreaker is a document management utility. It breaks text documents in
pieces, using user specified text attributes as a rule. Its interface is
minimal but effective and lets you specify breaking criteria which can
range from simple to real complex ones. It's a sort of document "cutter".
Both the source and the output documents can be provided in a variety of
formats, thanks to Claris XTND System support. DocBreaker will read and
write any text document for which an XTND translator is available.
DocBreaker supports AppleScript and allows complete remote control and
recordability.
Although DocBreaker is a standalone application, it was mainly conceived
as a pre-processor for another application I wrote called DocAssembler,
which groups and structures document collections and supports the XTND
System as well. Togheter, they form a strong document management tool.
Shareware $15 by Amedeo Farello or

Ecology 1.6 =A9Northinghouse Inc., 1994
"Ecology: An Islamic Perspective" is an 8-bit color hypercard stack created
using Hypercard 2.3 and saved as a standalone application (so that
Hypercard is not needed to view the stack).
The program examines the contention that the "traditional" religions
(Judaism, Christianity, Islam) are in large measure responsible for the
ecological crises sweeping the world today, because of the "human-centered"
(anthropocentric) philosophies they propagate. This stack examines the
Islamic perspective on this question.

Subject: [*] eDOC F-1.1.2: Gestionnaire de documents autonomes
--This is the French version of eDOC. An English version is available, too.--
documentation correspondante.

Subject: [*] FindText 1.3.1 (FAT)
FindText is a utility program that searches your files for specific text.
It can search your 1000 Mb harddisk for that one file you're looking for
containing a specific name, subject, date, word, .... You can select which
kind of files you want to search. Eg. search only in files of type TEXT or
only files created after 1-1-95 and not larger than 300 kb.
Instead of manually opening all your documents and looking for a specific
address let FindText do it for you (you probably will forget to open the
document you are looking for because it is in a folder where it doesn't
belong and you don't expect it to be there). It saves you a lot of time and
boring work. FindText can work in the background.
This is version 1.3.1 of FindText. It runs native both on the PowerMac and
on the 68020 / 68030 / 68040 Mac. It needs System 7 or better.
FindText does not run on a 68000 Mac (Plus, SE, Classic, PowerBook 100,
...), sorry.
FindText is shareware (US$ 20 or BEF 650 for a single license).
e-mail (internet) : [email protected]
This version fixes a small bug. FindText 1.3 sometimes forgets to save the
preferences, this is now solved in 1.3.1.

Subject: [*] Game of the Winds
Game of the Winds is a board game which is also known as Mahjongg.
However, Game of the Winds is not identical to the ancient chinese board
game Mahjongg.
When you start Game of the Winds, 144 tiles are arranged on the board in
several layers. Every tile is marked with a chinese symbol. The layout
of the board is determined by a layout file. Seven different layout
files are provided with Game of the Winds.
The aim of the game is to remove all tiles from the board. Tiles can be
removed from the board by selecting two matching tiles. Two tiles match
if they are marked with the same icon. A tile can be selected with a
mouse click if there is no other tile on top of it and if there is no

Subject: [*] HVS Color Demo Installer, Photoshop plug-in v1.2
HVS Color is a demo version of a plug-in for Photoshop 3.0 that uses a
psychovisual algorithm to provide extremely high quality color reduction
for 24-bit images. HVS Color is capable of producing 8-bit images that are
visually identical to the 24-bit original. Because images look good even at
low color depths, this is an excellent tool for web image developers. GIF
files generated from HVS Color images tend to be 10% to 40% smaller than
conventionally reduced images because HVS Color doesn't use dithering. The
plug-in offers control over parameters such as gamma, weighting, emphasis,
number of colors, and thresholding.
This version 1.2 improves the user interface considerably. The demo may be
freely reposted, including the archive CD-ROMs.

Subject: [*] IP Monitor Version 1.1
IP Monitor is a handy application which displays the current IP network
(or subnet mask) address of your Macintosh on your desktop.
With IP Monitor, you won't need to open the TCP/IP (or MacTCP) control
panel to view your Macintosh's IP address. Additionally, IP Monitor
allows you to copy the current IP network (or subnet mask) address to the
clipboard, where it can be pasted directly to most applications and
documents.
IP Monitor is especially useful to people connecting to the Internet via
the PPP or SLIP protocols, whenever IP addressing is provided dynamically
by the host' server.
IP Monitor requires System 7 as well as an IP network driver such as Open
Transport or MacTCP.
IP Monitor is scriptable. AppleScript, QuicKeys 3 and UserLand Frontier
example scripts are included.
Enjoy!

Subject: [*] LanSatellite 2.0b6 (AppleTalk network management)
LanSatellite(tm) by Trygve Isaacson is an application
that searches AppleTalk networks asynchronously, gathering information
about network services and devices. The accumulated data can be displayed
in Finder-like list and icon views. The icon view is a MacDraw-like drawing
environment in which you can use the network information plus drawing tools
to create network diagrams with sticky object links. LanSatellite runs
native on 68K and PowerPC. It is shareware $20.
What's New in 2.0b6
- The list view uses the text label color assigned to each object.
- You can set the font and size of the list view (from the Object menu).
- Added a command to auto-resize the column widths to fit the data.
- Keyboard navigation like the Finder is implemented in list and icon views:
- Type the first part of a node's name to select it.
- Tab and shift-tab move forward and backward alphabetically.
- Arrows move the selection, shift-arrow extends it in the list view.
- Command-right-arrow expands the selected items, command-left-arrow
collapses them.
- Object dragging is constrained to the drawing area.
- You are warned if you make a Page Setup or Drawing Setup change that
leaves objects off the page.
- You are warned if you resize an object down to nothing.
- Added a Zoom 100% command.
- Moved the Show Page Breaks toggle out of the Drawing Setup dialog and
onto the View menu, and it is now available for the list view as well as
the icon view.
- Fixed a drawing bug where the link endpoint coordinates were sometimes
not recalculated when an object's size changed.
- Implemented the Mercutio 1.2 MDEF and some new menu command keys.
- Now using CodeWarrior 8 and MacApp 3.3 final.

that they couldn't find the latest version of NamedFolder7 on Info-Mac.
So here is the latest version (1.2).
Here is a note about NamedFolder7:
NamedFolder7 brings up a dialog box every time you create a new folder in the
Finder. It will ask you to type in the name, rather than automatically name
it 'untitled folder'. Normally, the new folder appears at the bottom of a
window, requiring you to scroll down to name it. How annoying!
NamedFolder7 saves me time every time I use my computer. Check it out!
Known problems with NamedFolder7:
1. If you have the StuffIt Browser installed, choosing "New Archive" from
the File menu in the Finder will bring up NamedFolder7's dialog, but no
matter what you name the archive in the dialog, it won't name it.
2. If you have NewStuff installed, which is a FANTASTIC utility, I recommend
that everybody check it out - I believe the URL is
- then going to New Folder in the
hierarchical menu will bypass NamedFolder7. However, if you type Command + N
to make a new folder, NamedFolder7 does come up.

Subject: [*] Sokoban 3D 1.0
Sokoban 3D is a game in which you are a warehouse manager trying to
push a bunch of boxes in your warehouse onto some pallettes. The problem is
that the boxes are very heavy, and your warehouse has a strange, maze-like
layout. Since the boxes are so heavy, you can only push them and not pull
them. And since the warehouse is so poorly designed, you have to do some
tricky logical negotiating to get the boxes onto their pallettes.
Sokoban 3D is a more challenging and more graphically intense version
of the classic Sokoban game. It has the same goal as the classic game
(pushing boxes to their pallettes) but you view the warehouse from a
first-person, three-dimensional perspective rather than the classic
top-down, two-dimensional perspective. This makes the game more challenging
since you can't see all of the warehouse at the same time.
Sokoban 3D requires System 7 or higher and Color Quickdraw. It's a fat
application so it will run on 68K Macs and native on PowerMacs. It requires
at least 256 colors to run. Because of the graphically-intensive nature of
the game, it requires at least 1600K of RAM.

*New Import Already Recorded Letter Sets
*Better Performance and Bug fixes
*New Spelling option includes "Spell Whole Word" or "Letter By Letter" mode!
*New feature allows you to include apostrophe words in list!
*New "Apostrophe" letter key
Spell Maker Pro puts a powerful teaching technology at your finger tips.
Don't worry about Speech Manager's inadequacies for teaching phonics.
Spell Maker Pro 2.0 breaks the sound barrier. Give your kids real human
dictated spelling test. Each spelling list can contain an almost unlimited
amount of words. Teach entire languages or assemble priceless vocabulary
list in seconds! Best of all it's very simple to use. Just click on the
"Add Word" button any type the word you want. Presto...The Record Dialog
Box Pops up and you are ready to record the correct pronunciation of the
word. Spell Maker Pro 2.0 now includes the ability to record and save
different letter sets. You can use the Default Letter set or record your
own. You can also record letter sets in different languages and then
quickly switch between them. That's it, all you need is the standard
Macintosh microphone and a desire to teach real world phonics. Makes as
many lists as you like. Switch back and fourth between list with just a
mouse click. Don't worry about running out of RAM or bogging down your
program performance because "Spell Maker Pro" stores it's spelling List
files on disk! For this reason, you can exchange list with your friends
or download new ones form the Net. Spell Maker Pro, Alphabet Pro and
Sight Word Pro v.1. can exchange word lists too!
With "Spell Maker Pro", your spelling list will come to life in
true animated sequences on the color screen. Students must spell the word
in question by clicking on the correct alphabet block or typing the
equivalent letter key. As you enter each letter, the human pronunciation
of the alphabet characters will be heard. This will accurately define to
beginning readers what the letter and word pronunciations should really
sound like.

Subject: [*] SuperCollider Demo
SuperCollider is an environment for real time audio synthesis which runs
on a Power Macintosh with no additional hardware. SuperCollider features:
a built in programming language with real time incremental garbage
collection, first class functions/closures, a small object oriented
class system, a mini GUI builder for creating a patch control panel,
a graphical interface for creating wave tables and breakpoint envelopes,
MIDI control, a large library of signal processing and synthesis functions
a few of which are found nowhere else, and a large library of functions for
list processing of musical data. The user can write both the synthesis
and compositional algorithms for their piece in the same high level language.
This allows the creation of synthesis instruments with considerably more
flexibility than allowed in lower level synthesis languages. Since it is
easy to create control panels and graphic displays, SuperCollider is well
suited as a tool for teaching various synthesis techniques.
SuperCollider reads Sound Designer II and AIFF files and writes
Sound Designer II files. It can input and output audio from either the
Sound Manager or streamed from/to a file.
This is a crippled demo version.

While it
isn't required, to use Addiction Manager's speech capabilities, you must
have the Speech Manager installed (preferably the most recent version of
PlainTalk).

A tile can be selected with a
mouse click if there is no other tile on top of it and if there is no
tile next to it. A stop watch is started when you begin with a new game.
The 10 best players may enter their names into the high score list.
See Read Me file for additional information.
Game of the Winds is shareware, $5.
System requirements:
Game of the Winds requieres System 7.0 or later. It runs on a Macintosh
equipped with any 68K or PowerPC processor. However, it does not run
native on PowerPC systems.
