I have a G5 dual 2.5 that I use mainly to run Nuendo 4.3, an audio recording/editing program. I also run Reason 2.5 I currently run 10.4.11. I was considering upgrading to 10.5. As I understand, Snow Leopard is not compatible with the G5 architecture.
I have the Mac G5 dual 2.5 because it is the last Mac with PCI-X slots.... my Lynx Studio 2A card is a PCI card and is not compatible with PCIe slots. (The card was expensive, and it is still better than anything else I have heard in that price range.)
Thanks for the help;
Danny

Re: OS Upgrade
Leopard (10.5.x) is def a massive upgrade over Tiger (10.4.x), both at the end-user level and "under the hood" so to speak. Becoming so used to my workflow on 10.5 (and the very similar 10.6) I now find it frustrating and difficult to use machines still running Tiger. It seems like going back in time.
I would 100% recommend upgrading to Leopard. You'll soon find yourself feeling the same way.

I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
