Factory & other old mac games

Post by simsdaan » May 11th, 2008, 4:15 am

I would like to play old mac games like Factory and power pete on my Intel Mac or Windows PC. Is there any possibility? Can anyone please post a link to a tutorial or help me out just by posting things here?

What you're going to want to do is get a classic Mac emulator. If your games are 68k games, I would go with Basilisk II. If they're PowerPC games you must get Sheep Shaver. You also have to get a copy of a Mac ROM image, and you also have to have a copy of the Mac OS.

The current state of classic Mac emulators is pretty lousy - they're unreliable, slow, buggy, and exceedingly difficult to set up for someone who doesn't have much experience. They're also not updated anymore.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is pick up an old Power Macintosh for $15 on eBay. LIke a Power Mac 7500 or something. Doing so will save you a lot of hassle and be much more enjoyable.
I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
