Problem with changing backgrounds

I have this big problem. I have updated my iPhone but I can't still change my background. The only thing that changes is my lockscreen. When I choose a backgroundpicture the option for lock screen or home screen doesn't show.... Is it something wrong with my phone???

Are you clicking "Set Both" when you go to set your wallpaper? If so, and it isn't working, have you tried restarting the phone completely and setting the wallpaper again?

That does not show on my phone...the only thing turning up is cancel. I am not given any options at all....there must be something wrong with my phone. It drives me crazy!!!

I have turned off the phone and tried to set the wallpaper but nothing happens.... There must be something wrong.. I'm beginning to think that I've got a phone that is just a showexemple... U know the kind that lays in storewindows...

If you go to Settings -> General -> About, what value is given for version? The current version of iOS is 4.3.1.

I know that there is a new version buy now whwn I have connected the Iphone to my laptop Itunes says that there isn´t a new version. I still have 4.2.1.... I don´t know why I can´t update. i received a message awhile ago that the new version could updated. But no....

I noticed now when I visited Apples site that the new version 4.3.1 can only be upgraded if you have iPhone 3GS which I don't... I have 3G... Whatever the differences are????

Besides my friend do also have the 3G and hers is working perfectly fine and she changes wallpaper all the time and she could do that after the first program update to 4.2.1
