Hey info-mac users,
as you can guess by the title of this thread, I have a question about buying an iphone 4 in South Korea. I'm an american citizen (korean american to be precise) teaching English in South Korea and I am contemplating buying an iphone 4 while here. So my question is:
If I were to purchase an iphone 4 here would it still be able to sync with my current itunes account? would I be able to have all my music and apps (i currently have an old 2nd gen ipod touch) sync to the Korean iphone?
if anyone can help me out that would be great,
thanks!

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. Did somebody tell you that or did you read that somewhere?koreanlostinkorea wrote:If I were to purchase an iphone 4 here would it still be able to sync with my current itunes account? would I be able to have all my music and apps (i currently have an old 2nd gen ipod touch) sync to the Korean iphone?
Also, iPhone 5 should be out in three months. I would probably wait for that.

no one told me that, but I was unsure of if apple had placed international restrictions on the iphone/itunes/ipod. thanks for the reply btw.
I have one more question though, If I were to buy an iphone 4 here in Korea would I be able to take it back to the states in a year or 2 and use it there with a verizon/at&t plan or would I have to get a sim-card/have the phone jailbroken?

I might not be the best one answering this question as I have no experience with foreign iPhones. I'm pretty sure application-wise you'll be fine, but I'm also fairly certain that you won't be able to use your Korean domestic iPhone in the United States. I would highly recommend calling your local Apple Store and putting these questions to someone there. I think this is the Korean retail page: http://www.apple.com/kr/reseller/index.php
But think of it this way, by then you'll probably want an iPhone 7.

Haha that is true, assuming the world doesn't explode next year =p.
Aright, well thanks a lot for all the help, and I think I will take my questions directly to Apple.

Yes, you just need to authorize your iPhone from the same iTunes Store account.koreanlostinkorea wrote: If I were to purchase an iphone 4 here would it still be able to sync with my current itunes account? would I be able to have all my music and apps (i currently have an old 2nd gen ipod touch) sync to the Korean iphone?
Depending on how much longer you plan to be in Korea, you might want to ask about warranty and support when you leave.
