My car has both a USB and an Aux port for connecting devices. On a trial basis, I took my iPod's docking cable and plugged it into the USB jack. WOW! I was able to control the iPod via the controls on the radio. I could change songs, etc.
The problem is that when I use the docking cable, there is a skip in each song after about 2.5 minutes or so and on longer songs, there are multiple skips.
The songs play perfectly via the AUX jack. I was wondering whether anyone knows of a cable that has a 3.5mm stereo on one end and a USB on the other. This would enable me to play the iPod via the USB jack and perhaps be able to change songs, etc using the radio.
Any thoughts, ideas comments?

Re: iPod playback via USB
I'm a little confused about both your symptoms and what you're looking for. Firstly, what do you mean by skip? Like the song changes? Stops? Also, I don't think a USB to 3.5mm stereo headphone jack is going to work with your iPod. Those two connectors aren't related (ones digital the other analog).
Do you have more information about your stereo? Is it aftermarket, or stock on your car?

I am now telling the computer exactly what it can do.
Re: iPod playback via USB
Well, when I say "skip," I mean that the song misses a few notes and then continues. Otherwise it is fine. I have a USB MP3 player that works via the USB port which is what gave me the idea in the first place. Also...when I used the docking cable from the iPod, all of the information, i.e. Artist, Song Title, etc. was displayed on my radio and it played in quality stereo.
The radio is an aftermarket JVC- KD-PDR80 It is a little less than 3 years old (I think).
Any thoughts?
