Drop box and Dropbox
Is the Drop box facility on Macs anything to do with Dropbox and what is the difference? Thanks!

A drop box (lowercase) is a type of folder that you can write to but not read from. It's usually used in file sharing for example for students to turn in assignments.
It is not related to Dropbox the service.

Am now pondering whether to join iCloud. Didn't realize till after updating to Mavericks that couldn't sync my iPhone now without without joining the cloud . . .
