Myself (on a 2G, 3.1.2) and two friends (new iPod Touches, 3.1.2) just checked -- nope,it's working fine.

Yes, I am. They aren't.

It's probably just a case of the connection speed not being high enough, or a weak wifi signal. You are on wifi, right?

How do you know dustingibson isn't Jailbroken? Some quick Googling shows some reports of Jailbroken iPhones being unable to connect to YouTube.

You and I were writing our replies at roughly the same time, so you probably didn't see my reply. While there may be reports of some jailbroken iPhones having trouble, I can report that I -- on a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone -- am not.

Yeah, and it isn't to suggest that jailbreaking automatically equals no YouTube. Obviously, we're not reading reports of a mass worldwide inability of jailbroken phones to access YouTube - that would be tremendous news. It does seem, though, from my preliminary Googling, that cases of YouTube not being accessible when it should be have a higher occurrence on jailbroken phones than not. Perhaps an incomplete or corrupt jailbreaking process, or the installation of some third-party app that requires the jailbreaking is causing this? Hopefully someone more familiar with this situation can find a solution. As I have never jailbroken my phone nor have I ever lost YouTube functionality for any reason other than no network or a firewall.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that there is a fix for this on Cydia or Icy (third-party app installers often found on jailbroken iPhones). Worth a check.
