Just purchased a used powerbook G4. Began a clean install with CDs provided.... discovered that the first CD was gouged AFTER the OS was erased. Installed Tiger- but that leaves us without Garageband. We REALLY need GB. I have GB on my other Mac.... have tried to copy it and install it on the powerbook, but I'm given an error message saying ti can't find the sound library. Any suggestions on the proper way to copy necessary GB files from one Mac to another. I'm using Mac 10.4.11. My version of Garageband is 2.0.1. Hanx!

This isn't really the ideal way to do this. You can use Applications -> Utilities -> Migration Assistant to move User Accounts, Applications, Settings and Files between two Macs. You do this by starting up the Mac that has these items (in this case, GarageBand) as an external FireWire drive, by holding down "T" after the boot up chime. Connect the two directly with a FireWire cable, and run Migration Assistant on the "new" Mac. You should be good to go!
