screen saver improves images

I'm running OS 10.4.8 on an older G5 ( dual 2Ghz processors 8Gb RAM) with a couple of older 24" apple flat panel cinema displays. I recently set up the screen saver to use images in the picture file. ( actually a great way to have a random slide show). The images look great; sharper, more vivid, better contrast. better in fact than they do when I've finished with them in Photoshop. Can someone tell me what the software does to the images so I can replicate it?
Thanks,
Al Sharp

Try importing one into iPhoto and clicking "Edit" and then "Enhance." It probably has the same effect.

Sounds like you have Photoshop set up to run a different colour model. You can adjust this in PS's preferences.
