Office 2008 on G3s

Despite the official "requirement" for a 500 MHz G4 processor or better, Microsoft Office 2008 installed and runs fine on my 400 MHz Blue & White G3 with 640 MB of RAM. All the apps take a long time to launch, but once launched Word and Excel perform acceptably. PowerPoint, not so much.
I use iWork exclusively, but this information may be useful to some who might need a newer version of Word or something.
