When moving an item which is selected with the lasso, there is a way to keep
the mouse cursor out of the way so you can see what you are doing.

After selecting the item, move the cursor to the edge of the drawing window.
The cursor will change to an arrow in a narrow region just before going off
the drawing window. Clicking the mouse while it is in this region will work
the same as if you had clicked the mouse while pointing to the selected
item.
