The game of Khoog is an intriguing strategy board game that can be played
by Two or Four competitors (missing partners? no problem, the computer will
jump into their shoes).
In Khoog every game starts with a different board configuration and feels
like an entirely new game, however the rules are fixed. Therefore, Khoog is
truly a game that generates new games.

We invite you to design your own board configurations using Khoog's
intuitive interface. Once you have created a new board and placed the
pieces and destinations for all the players, Khoog will be immediately
playable in the game you have just created. Imagine that!

At first glance, Strategram is a strikingly familiar game. Played on an 8x8
board, it is as easy to learn as Checkers, as challenging as Chess, and as
addictive as Tetris or Solitaire.
But with 4 levels of play ranging from "Newcomer" (beginners luck could win
a game or two) to "Strategram" (white knuckle time) Strategram is
deceptively challenging. Blocking, attacking, and end-game strategies
become the operative words. And, as the title suggests, strategy is the key
to success.

Designed so that even the most jaded board game veteran will be hooked,
Strategram is packed with features. An interactive tutorial gets anyone up
and playing in no time. There is a "Strategic Advisor" that gives move by
move advice. And Tournament play, custom color schemes, move histories,
saved games, and unlimited undo round out the list.

Most incredible of all is Strategram's appeal to virtually anyone who tries
it. Why wait - download Strategram 1.0.2 for Macintosh Now, free trial!

Subject: [*] Columns Max 1.5 - Arcade Game

Columns Max is a fast-paced, colorful, and musical arcade experience that
combines elements of tetris and tic-tac-toe to create a simple yet
addictive game. The program was created by Steve Chamberlin, the author
of the award-winning game Tetris Max. The object of Columns Max is
simple: make blocks disappear by matching three of a kind horizontally,
vertically, or diagonally-- but beware, because it's harder than it
sounds. Columns Max is shareware, with a $15 registration fee.

Version 1.5 is a significant update to the previous version, with new
artwork and effects, new music, and changes to the rules to better
balance the gameplay.

System requirements:
- System 7
- 640x480 or larger color monitor
- about 2MB RAM
- about 2MB disk space

Subject: [*] CommuniGate SMTP 2.9 (w/manuals)

CommuniGate SMTP 2.9

Introduction
Welcome to CommuniGate SMTP - the CommuniGate communication module
supporting E-mail message transfer using the SMTP and ESMTP Internet
protocols (RFC821, RFC1425, RFC1854, RFC1869) via TCP/IP networks. In
addition, it supports receiving E-mail even via dial-up connections -
by means of wake-up E-mails and/or the Remote Queue Starting procedure
described in RFC1985 (in both the client and server modes). MIME
(RFC 1341) support and various attachment encoding methods are
provided within the CommuniGate Server kernel itself.

The CommuniGate SMTP is designed to support both direct and dial-up
Internet connections. It allows you to run a full-featured Internet
E-mail server even if you do not have a direct IP link to the Internet.

The CommuniGate SMTP module supports multi-stream communications, and
it can send messages to and receive messages from several other hosts
simultaneously.

The CommuniGate SMTP module can work together with the CommuniGate POP
and CommuniGate IMAP modules providing complete TCP/IP Internet E-mail
services.

The CommuniGate SMTP module can work together with the CommuniGate UUCP
module providing both TCP/IP and UUCP Internet E-mail. The CommuniGate
Router takes care of directing messages to the proper gate.

The CommuniGate SMTP module can protect the server from being used as
a mail relay (for "spam"), and it can distinguish messages sent by
registered users.

The CommuniGate SMTP module can accept AppleTalk connections providing
mail services to both TCP/IP and AppleTalk-savvy mailers (as Claris
Emailer).

Please read the document
to see if you need the CommuniGate SMTP module for your server.

Subject: [*] ETD (Eudora-and MORE!-To Database) v2.1 Released

Sent: ETD v2.1

HyperSolutions is proud to announce the release of ETD v2.1!

ETD is an application that reads messages contained in Eudora mailboxes,
Microsoft Internet Mail & News mailboxes, Netscape Navigator mail folders,
Claris Em@iler mail folders, and America Online messages, and puts them
into a single tab-delimited field, return-delimited record file, ready to
be imported into a spreadsheet or database. It returns the following data
from each message (where applicable), in this order: Mail System:, Mailbox
Name:, From (Name):, From (e-mail):, To: & Cc:, Subject:, Date:, Reply-To:
& In-Reply-To:, Organization:, Message Text. Once imported, you can use the
power of the database on your e-mail. I have included FileMaker Pro=AE
templates (from versions 2.1, 3.0, and 4.0) to contain the imported data.
Having your mail in a database makes it much easier to summarize, report
on, and utilize in a number of ways. If you need to use the power of a
database on your e-mail, give ETD a try!

New features in 2.1:

- Processes messages from Microsoft Internet Mail & News.
- New Preferences for specifying Source and Destination folders.
- Visual feedback during initial mail file load.

ETD is shareware ($10, US funds).

Jeremy's Control Strip Modules Release 1.7.2

Author's email address: jbkezer@kagi.com

Jeremy's Control Strip Modules is a package of Control Strip Modules,
designed to work with Apple's Control Strip software. The modules are:

* Jeremy's CPU speed CSM - Displays current clock speed in MHz, or
indicates relative full/reduced clock speed with tortoise/hare icons. You
can also select the clock speed after you restart.
* Jeremy's Battery CSM - Replaces Apple's Battery Monitor module, but
displays more battery information in a smaller area! Also displays hard
drive status, modem status and remaining battery time.
* Jeremy's Clock CSM - Displays the current time. Via a popup menu, you
can customize the appearance of the display.
* Jeremy's Sound Volume CSM - A direct replacement for the Sound Volume
module provided by Apple. The icon shows the current volume setting in
both numeric and pictoral form, so you don't need to bring up the menu to
determine the current volume.
* Jeremy's Sleep CSM - A direct replacement for the Sleep Now module
provided by Apple. Via the popup menu, you can select whether or not to
bypass the dialog that appears when AppleTalk is active.
* Jeremy's Battery Time CSM - Displays Apple's remaining battery time on
PowerBooks that are capable of it. It can also "learn" the battery life on
any model of PowerBook, or display the elapsed battery time.
* Jeremy's Temperature CSM - Displays the internal temperature of a
PowerBook Duo or PowerBook 500 series.
* Jeremy's Application CSM - Displays a count of currently running
applications and DA's. Also has popup menu that lets you select foreground
application.
* Jeremy's AppleTalk CSM - Replaces Apple's AppleTalk CSM, but displays
more information.
* Jeremy's EnergyStrip CSM - Replaces the PowerBook or Energy Saver
Control Panel, and lets you adjust power conservation settings from the
Control Strip.
* Jeremy's Power Countdown CSM - Shows how much time remains before power
conservation features activate.

Release 1.7.2 adds new features to the Temperature CSM and Application CSM.

Subject: [*] kalk112

Kalk is a simple RPN calculator, with a 30-level stack, with the four
basic operations plus some trig and log functions.
I wanted a RPN calculator, but not one more of those complete
implementations of scientific HP machines, that fill most of the screen
with dozens of buttons and switches. At the end of a week I was usually
back to the classic Apple calc, because it's small, fast, doesn't create
auxiliary files on the disk, and doesn't have big manuals.
So, the first goal on Kalk design was to make its window the same size of
Apple's. Then remove all digit buttons from the panel, making area for
more information (6 or 17 of the 30 levels of the stack are shown). The
only buttons remaining are those used everytime and those that are hard
to remember without a label (Drop, Swap, Enter, Undo, Change Sign,
Clear). Using Kalk is very like doing simple math on a 28- or 48-series
HP calculator. Digits are entered via keyboard, and the special functions
are grouped on the "Kalk" menu.
Hardware requirements: any Mac OS machine, except 128, 512, 512Ke, Plus,
SE, Classic, Portable and PB 100.

Changes since 1.0.8:
Aesthetic changes to be compatible with Mac OS 8 platinum appearance.
Added a mechanism that allows the user to plug sounds for many Kalk
operations. Added a percent function. Added Power (x^y) function. Window
can now grow to show 17 levels of the stack.

Subject: [*] Right-on-time calendar and reminder program

Right On Time is a personal time manager and scheduler. It features a
calendar, to-do list, and reminders (alarms). It supports repeating
events, categories, digitized sound alarms, the Speech Manager, and more.
This version replaces earlier demo shareware versions, and is now
totally FREE!

Right On Time contains the most-used features of commercial applications
such as Now Up To Date, First Things First, DateBook, etc., yet is very
easy to use, much smaller (both in disk space and RAM), does not require
any system extensions, and is FREE. If you are at all interested in the
various personal time managers, check this one out! Find out why MacUser
magazine said "Right On Time, which combines a calendar and an event
list, is probably the most elegant shareware to-do-list program available
right now" (that was the Jan. 1994 issue, but still true!).

Subject: [*] SchemeChecker 1.0.2 - a utility for checking Kaleidoscope schem

When Greg Landweber released Kaleidoscope 1.5, he started supporting
third party color schemes. Anybody can now make their own schemes, but
unfortunately, not all scheme designers are careful enough to make sure
their schemes are bug free.

SchemeChecker can help you make bug free color schemes. It checks your
schemes for errors like:
- missing "System Heap" and "Purgeable" bits
- missing resources
- resources not needed

Version 1.0.2 of SchemeChecker is based on the resource set from
Kaleidoscope 1.7.3.

Recent changes to SchemeChecker
-------------------------------
1.0.2 - Oct 15, 1997
* Added support for new resources introduced in version 1.7.3
of the Kaleidoscope control panel.

1.0.1 - Sept 14, 1997
* Fixed a few small bugs
* The minimum list of required resources was slightly changed

SchemeChecker is primarily a utility for scheme designers, but if you are
experiencing strange, unexplained problems with your mac: freezes,
crashes etc., and you have Kaleidoscope installed, running SchemeChecker
on your favorite schemes may help you figure out what is causing the
problems.

Subject: [*] SilverTwoTab3DRsrcs_v5.sit

Tired of the 'factory' installed Blue 3D folders that Apple stuck you
with? Don't particularly care for the Blue 3D folders available for
downloading? Don't care to run Kaleidoscope?

Then perhaps you'd like these folders instead.

The "Silver Two-Tab 3D Folders" is a set of ResEdit resources and a few
ready made folders to enhance the look of your Macintosh. The ResEdit
resources are designed to replace the 'factory' installed Blue folders
with Silver Two-Tab 3D style folders. The included 'ready made' folders
are designed to enhance the effect by enabling you to place custom
folders onto those folders that normally do not have a custom icon in
your System Folder.

Included in the archive is a "Folder Icon Maker" (version 1.5) resource
file so you can get started making your own Silver Two-Tab 3D custom
folders right away. Folder Icon Maker v1.5 itself is included in this
archive by permission of the author, Gregory M. Robbins. This is in the
form of an original StuffIt archive as downloaded from America Online.

This set works best with Mac OS 8 or later. For System Software (Mac OS)
versions earlier than OS 8 please look for "SilverTwoTabCoplandRsrcs_v3"
at your favorite info-mac archive.

Please see the included "Two-Tab 3D Read Me" file for more information
and instructions for installation.

Don't forget to look for the "SilverTwo-Tab3D" folder series as well.
Each archive/series contains 100 custom "ready made" folders for your
enjoyment.

Commercial usage of, or commercial distribution of, the contents of
this archive and/or the concept thereof, requires written permission from
the author.

The actual contents and intellectual concept of the "Silver Two-Tab 3D"
folders is Copyright of Steve Ebener, all rights reserved.

Startup Player is a definitely cool control panel that plays a
sound over and over during the startup process, until all other
extensions and control panels have loaded and the Finder comes
out. Starting from version 2.1, a shutdown sound can also be
played when the Mac is restarted or shut down. All startup and
shutdown sounds can be either fixed or picked at random.

New in 2.1:

- Added support for shutdown sounds and custom amounts of
reserved system RAM.
- Moved the Startup Player files and folders to their own
folder in the System folder.

Subject: [*] StoryProject 2.0 68K

This is version 2.0, vastly different from the previous version. Whereas
version 1.2 was an underfeatured brainstorming program, StoryProject 2.0 is a
fully-fledged story outliner. It has two unique features that creative writers
will appreciate: threading and spotlighting. Threading makes a complex plot
easier to develop, and spotlighting does the same for character development.
Because the two are integrated, whatever you do in StoryProject, you are always
progressing your story.

StoryProject 2.0 is fully-functional shareware. Try it for 15 days, then
register. Read the Read Me file for full details.

Requires System 7 or greater and at least 1MB free RAM. Works on any Macintosh.

Subject: [*] Twisted! 1.5

"Twisted!" is an intriguing adventure from Ray Dunakin, the creator of
"Another Fine Mess" and "A Mess O' Trouble." In this exciting game you
begin as a storm chaser tracking tornadoes. The sky is dark and ominous,
and you've got a job to do...

Before too long you end up in the Land of Ooz, a bizarre fantasy world
filled with strange creatures, fascinating puzzles, and intriguing plot
twists. There's treasure to find, problems to solve, and civilizations to
save! Along the way you'll find plenty of humor, horrendous puns, and
some political satire that might just make you think.

You'll encounter Mushkins, Woggles, a Pumpkin Village, Zirconium City,
and more in this amazing game. The result of months of full-time work,
this game includes hundreds of sounds, dozens of characters, and some of
the best black & white graphics you've ever seen.

This game will work on any Mac OS computer. Sounds may not work on the
Mac XL, PowerPC Macs, or AV Macs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For a PowerPC you may need to increase the memory
partition to run this (or any other World Builder) game. Suggest
increasing memory partition to 1024K by single clicking the Twisted
application, selecting "Get Info" from the File menu, and increasing
"Preferred Size" to 1024.

The author asks a $15 shareware fee if you like and keep the game. The
author can be contacted by e-mail at raydunakin@aol.com.

Version 1.5 fixes minor bugs and adds additional hints to the game.
