TCPSerial - Internet serial port and modem simulator

Low level stuff to examine and control your Mac. Hardware and software configuration reporting, speed testing, extension managers, startup managers, memory managers, fpu emulation, system monitors, screen resolution & depth, keyboard configuration, volume control. (Not for typical system or control panel extensions.)

TCPSerial - Internet serial port and modem simulator

Post by Info-Mac » March 18th, 1998, 11:00 am

Download: http://archive.info-mac.org/cfg/tcp-serial-101.hqx

This archive contains TCPSerial 1.0.1 which is an extension that
creates serial ports and simulated modems using the Internet. This
allows you to connect to the Internet using programs which only know
how to talk to serial ports. TCPSerial does not make any use of the
real serial ports on the machine. In particular it does not let you
make an Internet connection via real serial ports. It does the
opposite: it lets you make serial port connections via the Internet
(however you are connected to the Internet).

This is not a new version, it is being resubmitted since it seems to
have been purged from the archive and I've gotten requests for it. If
you downloaded it before, there is no need to download it again.
