Re: Which software you use to monitor CPU temperature?
Goodday, I have posted here several times before, but been shouted down for being out of touch, all the time, with Apple kit.
So here is my professional response, I don't use any Software developed program to regularly monitor my Power PC, it runs cool, seldom exceeds 30 degrees, if I do need to ...

Re: Adobe Persuasion 4
Turbolad is telling you straight. Adobe are real tight on warez spiffing. I believe you, but we got two aspects to the case. If you bought a complete pack, you would have all the disks that match: yer its that bad, one disk out of serial, and the install goes awol.

Re: Adobe Persuasion 4
If its a presentation file you need to read, as a one off, there is a slight chance in three places. One, Adobe offer some kind of translation service, themselves. Two, Google translate, doc services, that might be able to get the presentation into something more common, like jpeg or png. Three, a ...

Goodday Liz, I am responding to this as Adobe are in Scotland.

Re: Macbook Pro keeps restarting and QuickTime Player opening
And as an adendum, I got to say, you MUST do a Quicktime uninstall first, and then do a Quicktime install over, when you update, does that sound the most likely thing you altered before the troubles began? Preram battery check is a routine event, after usually 3 years of not knowing about its ...

Re: Macbook Pro keeps restarting and QuickTime Player opening
Well, you clearly have a display crash, that is the first observation. The second point to notice, is the reappearance of the screen, with the setting in a different state, ie programs closed, and quicktime play open. You say its a once a week occurance, roughly?
First off, it would be sensible to ...

Hey, why make your life complicated, just go in to Date an time settings and turn Use Network Time server off!

Re: Multi-booting: Mac OS 9.2.2 stopped booting
Yup spot on. Its a System file problem, Also, boot from a bootable CD rom, and run the disk fix checker, just to make sure the disk is alright.
Also Check you are booting into the right startup volume, if you lost your battery or the battery went flat, and you lost the preram settings, startup disk ...

Re: Microsoft Word 5.1
Nisus Writer does 5.1, go for that one, you will love me for the future, it saves files as text formats, no more arsing with file formats. Word 5.1 is good, and I ran it on 7 but MS changed the file format in 97 and 98 so docs don't open to read, and there was no fix given by the MS boys. Also on 8 ...

Sure, I got something to add, my original imac had a ball, and the sensors clogged up on it and needed cleaning, (remember those good old days!) but then apple invented the infra red mouse for the later models, of imac, and I bought an infra red mouse, and true, one day some clown gave me a mac mat ...

I just had another thought, and, having worked in the business of engineering all my life, I would like to ask why is it, people always ask such obvious questions about Apple Computer kit, but, don't ask the same thing of other makes of computer?
