There's really no logical reason for Apple to stop people from using the AirDrive with other Macs. It should work just fine. I imagine it would look great under a mini.

I wouldn't get a Yikes! G4 if I were you. Sawtooths have more modern standards such as AGP and the same processor slot as all subsequent PowerMac G4 models, for example. The Yikes! G4 is essentially a Blue & White G3 with a G4 processor.

Ooh yeah. If you want to go Intel Mac mini, make sure it's a dual-core. I've heard that the Core Solo's performance is very poor in comparison, and the difference in price is minor.

At that price, the two options that come to mind would be a) a used/on sale Mac mini b) a used PowerMac G4. Both would allow her to keep monitor, mouse and keyboard.

A good start would be to publicize Info-Mac's re-opening on mainstream Mac news sites.

Here's a good thread @ the cubeowner.com forums that lists possible cube video card upgrades, as well as known limitations or dysfuctions.

Looks like it may be a little outdated, but it should be a good resource nonetheless.
