I have never had an issue not running antivirus software on a Mac. There just aren't enough credible threats out there. I have personally avoided using Norton products since OS 9 came out.
I have installed ClamXav to help prevent spreading a windows virus that may be attached to an email. No ...

Hi Bel,
Does your machine meet the requirements for Leopard posted here http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24950 ?
Also, are you using a retail install disc? Model specific discs will not be able to install a system on your quicksilver.

trogdor,
The only things I can think of off the top of my head are:
1. Remove some of the additional ram. Try only one stick at at time. There may be an issue with compatibility.
2. Remove the personality card and clean the contacts. Questionable connections have been an issue for many others.

Re: Mac IIcx with no System Disc.
System 6.0.3 is the earliest OS the IIcx can run. It can run up to System 7.5.5.
However, if you only have the base 1MB of ram, I would not recommend running System 7 on this machine. Stick with System 6. If you have 4MB or more of ram, try System 7.1.

Re: Installing More Than 128 GB Internal Hard Drive in a G4
When you connected your new drive to the pci card, did you initialize it with Disk Utility? If not, please try this. Some cards don't work well with drives that have been initialized elsewhere. Also, you may need a firmware update on the pci card to properly use larger drives. I have an older Sonnet ...

These beasts can be quite temperamental. Especially regarding ram. I have several B&W G3s in my basement. Touchy buggers they are, for sure.
Good luck with the efforts on these babies.

This applies to me. I never would have bought some of these apps on their own. Now I'm sold, and they own me. Sort of.

Try this:

Not sure if it will work in OS 9, but it's worth a try!

Re: What does everybody think about the macbook air?
It's definitely a niche product. With a lack of ports and no optical drive, it will never be a big seller. I smell a cube in portable format. I have no need or desire for one.
But it does look good!
I made similar predictions about the iPod. "Who would ever pay that much for a music player ...

Dear Mr. D, you are seriously misguided and deluded. The Constitution is the supreme law of our land. To believe in its relevance is not a conservative or liberal concern, but an issue of freedom and liberty.

I like Ron Paul. He has no chance of getting the nomination, however. Something about adhering to the constitution just scares most people in this country.

I have seen them in both Staples and Best Buy recently. I picked up a large lot of TDK disks 2 years ago on eBay. They are out there still.

Insanity? Other than that, I have no idea. I'd never pay even 1/10th of the current price for one.

Re: G3 iMacs
I still have the iMac DV I purchased in 1999. My kids use it for older OS 9 programs, like KidPix and older games. Other than similar uses, these are not something you would want to use for anything modern.
