My Mac is unresponsive, the finder, some of the applications. I have to force quit every few seconds. I have backup by time machine on ext hd but it's my only mac and I can't access my data from a Windows 10 laptop. I really need access to my data.
It's Friday end of work day so I think I am ...

Re: Wireless mouse not being detected
I tried to do the repair permissions and disk via disk utility in repair mode (indeed there is this option).
Also noticed an option of reinstalling Mountain Lion OS. Should I do that or should I back up and do the upgrade to Mavericks instead? Does apple have drivers for that mouse?

Re: Wireless mouse not being detected
The mouse is sort of connected. The problem is that it won't scroll or move the pointer. But when I click on something, the mouse is working. Very strange.
It worked perfectly on another iMac at the shop.

Re: Printer doesn't print suddenly
I did "repair permissions" on the hard disk but I didn't boot from recovery partition. What improved is that now the mouse is detected but the pointer is not moving.
The printer does not print but the scan function works. Big puzzle...
If I boot from recovery partition will I lose any data?

Re: My iMac works slow - how to clean up?
Hi Robin,
1) MacKeeper is not recommended by Mac community, there is no point installing or keeping it. I checked all files manually and there is almost no "trash" so to speak, Mac OS must take care of this on its own probably.
2) The problem is: MEMORY. Standard iMac comes with 4GB memory and ...

@Turboladdade:
Hi, when you said you have 32GB of memory, I checked options for upgrading the 4GB on my iMac. My model is possible to open without assistance from Apple support (which would cost lot of money in this country), so I found instruction from Apple support precisely hot to add memory - it ...

Re: How safe is it to run a Mac without any antivirus software?
I have a third-party software installed (like MS Office and some other), so I don't feel it's safe. I decided to go back to Norton Internet Security. So far it works ok, it does take up memory (I have only 4 GB and for what I am doing it's not enough) but I didn't have a frozen computer so it's ok.

The backup takes more than 8 hours and still unsuccessful (because I tried to check what's going on, it interrupted the backup process so it failed). It takes more than 8 hours. I try to run it overnight but still...it could take 12 maybe 24 hours ???
